This music is new to me and is so very rich. I'm new to early music, so I've joined this group to learn. Now I'll be researching the theorbo! Thank you for presenting this composer.

Doctor Hamilton, thank you for putting these up. I'm not sure if you remember me, but I may have been somewhere in the house when this was recorded. It's a real treat to hear you and my mother playing again after all these years.

This is a great transcription and performance! I’m learning the original from the concert for two viols. This is one of the most profound pieces in early music.

Which sonata of G. Finger is this? Cause the allegro of Veracini in 'sonata Sesta' is the same.

Hi Greg! this is really cool playing! (I'm theorbo-stalking Greg, whom I know from our student days abroad, because I'm considering a theorbo by the same luthier who built his instrument.) Check out the 4th movement of Veracini's sonata #6 for violin or recorder from the manuscript in Dresden's "Schrank II" collection (D-Dl, Mus. 2413-R-12, p.38-39). It's the same piece! RISM states it's a possible autograph manuscript. But Finger's music was collected at Dresden too!
