This is good question is why the eaves near the soffits need much insulation when its just an overhang. The main thing is that the wall heated space is well insulated.

My GB40 is over 6 years old. It's been dead and unable to charge for over 3 years, sitting in my garage collecting dust. It would no longer allow me to charge it because battery cells had falling below a threshold where it wouldn't allow it. I came across this video that showed how to bypass that safety feature and get it to accept charging again. My GB40 was showing just under 2volts when I tested it like in the video. I hooked up a trickle charger to it as was shown in the video for 20 minutes. I pushed the power button and it lit up! So now the GB40 would allow me to charge it which I did thru it's charging port. It started charging and after some hours, it was fully charged , ready to go and working again! So this method does work without opening the case! Thank you!!!!

@@chuckcheyne1402 I’m happy I was able to help out. I hope it continues working for many more years now. Best to try keeping a charge in it going forward. It would also be a good idea to drain it completely a few times a charge back up again. Cheers!

I have 3 Noco GB150s.. had two go bad & noco replaced. 3rd will only charge using the round charge plug, the phone charger plug no longer accepts power. If I can't get back to shop with the A/C charger... the only way to recharge in the field is to leave the cables hooked up to the battery for a minute or two & let the vehicle recharge it....however...its NOT good for the Lithium battery. It says so in the manual...running vehicle charge voltage is too high & shortens the pack life.... I'll hafta do what I need until the unit fails....but i definitely will not buy a 4th Noco... they've all had quirks..... meanwhile, I have JNC 660's that work significantly better & have lasted for almost 10 years flawlessly & they're less than half the price... JNC for the win.

This video is how I learned to make biscuits. I was snowed in back in 2014. I was running low on food. I gave my dogs my chicken since they ran out of food. I decided to try to make biscuits. My dear sweet mother taught me how to make gravy but she passed before I learned how to make biscuits. I'll never forget the smell as they was baking in the oven. I opened the door and I stomped my foot against the floor and held my hands in the air crying tears of joy. They turned out perfect the 1st time and I looked up to heaven saying momma I made biscuits. ❤ And yes my Lil shi thus loved them!! I had to share 😊

They charge based upon square footage. Not exactly cheap, but still a worthwhile expense for the comfort improvements in the winter. Plus, over time, it should pay for itself by lowering my HVAC usage costs. After all the foam was installed and allowed to cure for a couple days, I did notice a couple tighter doors that are in contact with the outer walls. Nothing crazy, but just tighter than in the past.

I need a new roof within the next 4 to 5 years. I have very old dirty fiberglass insulation but no baffles underneath. Should i just remove it now ?
@jimginnyohio
@jimginnyohio 27 күн бұрын
@@2002chow I wouldn’t remove it until you’re ready to replace things. Usually when you get a new roof, you will get a lot of wood chips into your attic from the nail penetrations. If you’re removing the old insulation, you could clean up some of the wood chips too. Otherwise, it doesn’t hurt to just cover up the old insulation with new stuff. Although, you wouldn’t want to do that if there is mold in the attic. In that case, it’s best to remove everything.

Another fine tutorial. Did you blow the cellulose in yourself, or pay someone to do this job? My house was built in the late 70s. It has many of the same deficiencies you found. Chalk it up to knowledge & code improvements. Thanks to you, I know how to correct the deficiencies my haouse has. Once deficiency i found & intend to fix is using spray foam around all ceiling fan & recessed (“can”) lights. I’ve heard that these holes in the ceiling are another noticeable source of heated / cooled air loss.
@jimginnyohio
@jimginnyohio Ай бұрын
@@G.I.JeffsWorkbench Yes, I blew it in myself. Lowe’s and Home Depot will give you free usage of the blower machine when you buy so many bales of insulation. Otherwise, you can rent one if buying a smaller amount. You will need to have someone assist since it’s a two person project. One person needs to feed the machine, while the other person needs to go up into the attic. A few tips: Feed the machine slow to avoid clogging. Wear a throw-away painting suit, goggles, and dust mask since you will get insulation all over you. Feed the machine outside if possible since the cellulose insulation goes everywhere. A garage might be ok…but not in the house. Buy and blow more insulation than you think you will need since it’s a two will settle a lot over time. Enjoy!

@@Nwladylaura369 Check with the pro desk at your local Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Menards. Private contractors will usually leave their contact information there to get work. If you go with blown in cellulose insulation, the store will usually give you free usage of the blower machine when you buy a certain number of insulation bales. The labor will usually cost about the same amount as the insulation cost, but it’s a worthwhile investment. Best of luck!

It's mad that Noco itself has an override / force mode for jumping particularly dead batteries, but it doesn't have a feature for the same circumstance for itself. I've just bought a GBX45, and heard that unlike the regular GB series, this can happen a bit too easily. I already have a Noco Genius trickle charger i could use, and I'm going to buy a USB lead with croc clips ready for if it ever happens.

That was a rather long-winded 30min video. Here's the summary: Connect multimeter ground to either USB port and the Positive output on the unit to see the real pack voltage. You will be able to see it creep up from the USB charger. My GB50 draws 1.5A at 5V from USB, and the pack voltage creeps very slowly. If you are going to try to wake it up from the dead state he describes, don't do what he did. Instead, just connect it to a good battery to revive it. It's fine to add <5A charger to keep the voltage higher. If you want to use your bench power supply, I'd go with 14V at <2A. The unit should be alive when its above 11V. I tested this on a GB50.
