OMG! Great work. I have this exact model & movement. It was passed to me by its original owner. It's fascinating to see its inner secrets. Thank you. I need an additional 18k link, so I can more comfortably get my hand inside the bracelet. Is that something you might have a stock of? I'd also be interested to know how much you would charge for a full service like this? My understanding is that it has never been serviced. It keeps pretty good time, but it's a big ask, for a mechanical watch, to have gone over 50 years without servicing.
@JG191711 ай бұрын
so does this watch do, amazing works and keeping the time unbelievably accurate before i service it.. impressed by these genius watchmaker and their wisdom to create all these mechanism watches even a century before. i guess that's the charm of mechanical watches. for the watch links maybe you can try your luck on eBay, you can probably find one. and i suggest you send your watch to a local watch shop or authorise watch service centre for a proper service :) because i think we are apart from one to another side of this world hehe 😆 least, with you have a good one and your watch too cheers 👍🏻

Hi, I have a similar movement an FE 140.2A (it has the day date complication but for the rest is the same), I was trying to fix it as probably the cannon pinion is too loose, but it seems from your video that the cannon pinion is offsetted in this watch, is it the one you removed with more strength? The one in between the minute wheel and hour wheel? Or is that just a particular intermediate wheel? It would be great if you have any idea about it

A really useful video would be to show folks how to open a Roamer-style case and remove the movement. I have an old Lord Elgin made this way. It looks like a snapback, but also like a one-piece. It's weird. No one on YT shows how to open one of these, so you would be the only one.

@JG19172 жыл бұрын
it is a split stem and crown design. so basically the crown and the stem are just clamp together, so give a moderated force pull the crown horizontally to avoid unnecessary damage, the crown should be come out perfectly :)

@JG19172 жыл бұрын
if you assure that the pallet fork working perfectly, the only thing I can think of is the escapement wheel pivot or the jewel. use your magnifying glass check through the escapement wheel and it pivot, and the jewel socket where the escapement wheel sit, a broken pivot or crooked jewel stone/pivot(commonly seen) can cause the whole wheel chain malfunctioning :) be patient and take it slow, running through all connected part and find out the problem my friend :D cheers and enjoy this satisfying hobby
