Delete the amd folder and remove the graphics driver (the same as at start of the video). You can go to the asus rog ally sight and download their drivers (should be a similar process) alternatively after deleting the drivers go in to armory crate update center and check for updates and see if it gives you the option of installing the graphics driver from there

This is an old video and was produ Ed using stock drivers and software. Since this video there has been lots of driver updates and fsr3 frame generation has been added to this game ( a really good implementation) so this game performs even better

@seamillo by default the screen is always directly in front of your glasses. There is a spacewalker app, that allows you to use 3dof I've tried it on my PC. Not sure if the nexband offers better options for that as I didn't get one of those.

@Max-hs8zd on my go I have memory core isolation turned off and in windows features I've turned off windows virtual machine platform. I also have vram set to 6gb. This video was recorded quite some time ago. I feel like the latest legion go drivers had a bit of very minor stuttering. I've side loaded the latest amd driver instead but had major issues getting the driver to work (I had to reserve and load everything back in so would recommend if you do try to side load the latest drivers to use display driver uninstaller first (free software)

@lgtexas2013 I had issues recently trying to upgrade drivers on the go. Had to reset it and then got the same problem again. I now recommend using display driver uninstaller to clean things out before installing the new driver. It's available here www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/ make sure to select the amd graphics drivers to remove in the drop down. And you probably should have it restart and uninstall in safe mode (I didn't use safe mode). The display will go sideways at some points (native portrait display sadly). Then install the latest drivers (I'm assuming you have downloaded this already). Let Me know if that helps. I will do an updated driver guide in the future but a bit busy to do it at the moment. You should find the driver should install automatically, but If you still get the error still follow the video where it navigates down into the folder that begins with a B and some numbers and run the cc update.

@T0mDevilSIDE that's right. Setting to auto makes the game realise it's got enough memory to cache the shaders, otherwise it compiles shaders on their first use resulting in stuttering.

@timgaffney5521 In general I'd say if you can wait for asus to update the drivers and release them in armory crate (the update center part of it). Unless the latest drivers have something to make a newly released game work, or if you have an egpu there is no need to update. You should be able to update using this video though.

could be that it's broken. go in to MSI Center M. Then go on to the Control mode, select gamepad mode then select triggers. is the slider for the left trigger up at 100%. If it is (and it's not been dropped to 0%) then I think it's probably a fault in your device and you will need to see about returning it for repair.

@noncompulsoryl the connector is on the right leg and the connection Is magnetised so it snaps in when it's orientated correctly. I tried to connect it upside down and the magnets repel.

@HandheldGamingFan Thanks for checking that. I wanted to use these with a legion go while lying down. I'm not sure that's going to be possible then with the cable pointing backwards.

@noncompulsoryl I did a quick test. I plugged in to the top usb on my legion go, and laid flat on my back on my bed looking up at the ceiling with the legion go resting on my chest. The cable is long enough to snake down from my ear and round behind the legion go with plenty of slack in the cable and not in the way.

@justjoshin2747 there are newer drivers, it takes asus a while to verify drivers for the ally and amd frequently update their drivers

@epicro9470 fans are quite loud when running at 30w for sure. I tend to be wearing headphones when I play ( especially on the legion go as it has very poor upward facing speakers) so this drowns out the fan noise.

@josephhall7317 when you pick custom there is a slider you can adjust it to the tdp you want. On battery I'll play on performance (20w) for intensive games. For 2d and less intensive games I'll use custom and drag the slider down until the frame rate drops and the game seems unplayable, then step up till it's playable

@jayofficial8894 if you don't have a ps5 you can stream from x box or pc if you own them, or you can subscribe to streaming services like geforce now to stream games, unfortunately certain playstation games won't be available to stream

In legionspace you can choose from 800p, 1200p and 1600p (quick settings). I only do this if the game assumes the resolution you are currently at and doesn't allow you to change it. Most of the time I sit at 1600p and choose a lower resolution in game

@wrthndr69 pretty sure I was just on auto, I rarely mess with fan curves. There have been bios updates that resulted in higher temps on the go, so maybe fans are having to work harder to keep the temps stable

@gamezoneentertainment7622 is that on the newer versions of the mod? I haven't checked on the status of this mod for a while

@OneLastScholar this was the z1 extreme. If I remember rightly I did find some better settings and did a video on that, but overall wasn't a great experience on the original ally or the legion go (mainly down to lack of memory). Tried it on the ally x recently and it's so much smoother. It's one game where the extra memory makes a difference

Not sure why at the time but I think uf you allocated too much memory to the vram it didn't leave enough memory for the game. I think at one point I was running auto. The later in the game you get the less playable it gets. Not a great experience overall. Completed the main story got so far in the dlc then lost interest

@PD_JACKSON1 if you have an external keyboard plugged in, can you hit f8 on start up (tap it as soon as you turn on device). If this gets you thr option to start up in safe mode then choose that. Then perhaps see about removing handheld companion, and reinstalling or just a lid using it.

@@HandheldGamingFan thanks a lot, it worked! Soon as I connected the device to my desktop setup/Dell Dongle, I was magically able to use the touchscreen to log in, didn’t even need to go into safe mode. Thanks a lot!
