Days Gone | AMD fluid motion frames testing on the Asus ROG Ally Z1 Extreme (900p @18w tdp)

Really impressed with the fps uplift - and with how easy it is to implement (no installing of third party mods). Additionally this can potentially work on all Directx 11/ Directx 12 games.
For Fluid motion frames to work you will need to install the latest AMD graphics drivers (not the latest official Asus AMD drviers)

So you need to install the drivers from AMD.. I think there’s a process to doing that. I like the way this technology is progressing.. frame gen on a handheld is game changing.

I have a video for how to install the latest drivers on the rog ally. 100 percent agree with you that frame gen is great, and fluid motion frames brings it to any direct x 11 or 12 game in a really easy fashion. I have a video scheduled to release in a few minutes showing jedi survivor and it was running terribly (I think due to the driver itself as I have played it successfully before ) but fluid motion frames made it so much better.

I was surprised how well Jedi Survivor worked on the OG steam deck tbh.. I have not tried it on the Rog (too many games to play through after all the Steam sales 😬🤣). I look forward to testing out the frame gen once my Rog comes back from being repaired… the right trigger wouldn’t register a full press and the sensor jittered so it wouldn’t calibrate either… I don’t know yet if they had to replace the motherboard to fix the issue.. I couldn’t find any information on where the hall sensor for the trigger is? The issue didn’t effect shooters but driving games were impossible… @@HandheldGamingFan

So UPS collected it last Thursday and I’ve had emails to say that they were investigating the issue and lately to say they have the parts in stock yesterday… I asked what part they are going to replace but was told they couldn’t tell me until they install and test the unit… my guess is that it will be sent back to me this week.. fingers crossed it arrives before the weekend.. fast service Tbf and in the UK.

It's not officially available for the rog ally or the legion go, but it's part of the latest amd drivers. This works on the ally because it is a true landscape screen. There seems to be a bug in fluid motion. Frames that means it does t work on portrait screens. I did connect to an external monitor on the go (set it as the only screen) and it works in that scenario.

@rockgaming0421 unfortunately I don't know, it's got to be soon. Asus has to test it first, but they've had it a while now
