I just bought a 22 C8 and my first day of ownership got a CEL stating high fluid pressure in the transmission. Dealer said it was a valve body and GM is going to replace it. Now I'm worried what the lead time is on that trans...

Mine had that after awhile it went away around 2200 miles its been good now. I had a service trans light at one point when it was doing that they said i needed a new trans but after checking it they said it was low one quart of trans fluid. Get your dct filter changed if you haven't it's free on your first time. I think that's very important cause those trans are delicate and if it has dirt or what it can cause problems. Mine so far is great not shuttering coming to stops, just smooth and good.

Question is has anyone NOT had issues with the c8 transmission. I’m selling mine. I feel it’s a matter of when. I think every one will fail within 40-50 thousand miles. I’m dumping this pos. Gonna look into a nice Acura or maybe a challenger.

Had my 2020 C8 transmission replaced twice. Less than 20,000 Mile's on it. Just picked up a 2024 Z06 on Tuesday and with 169 miles on it, I got a transmission hot, pull over message. Long story short, I need a new transmission. What is going on GM??

My 23 has been perfect for the first year and just as a precaution on the first service I had them change the DCT filter. What harm could be done? Got in the car after the service and it's not been the same. Intermittently, the car just won't move in 1st gear, press on brake and press throttle and it moves. This all started after they changed the filter. They checked the fluids, there is no CEL, they said it's fine. Fortunately, there are 2 more years of warranty remaining.

Hey Silver, great video on the Paragon Vortex Generator! I am about to order one for my black C8. Now that you have had it on for a while, do you have any additional comments to share? Did the 3M tape keep it in place in the hot Florida sun? Is there any discoloration over time? Any additional mounting tips? Thanks! Bill

I’ve had stuttering/shuddering issues for almost two years since it was new. It’s been in the shop 5-6 times. A different story every time and of course no problems when service took it for drives. Dealer said I needed fresh transmission fluid which of course wasn’t under warranty!

One thing to know: engineers design the internals of any car but the people working in the factories assembling the car sometimes are not the smartest or even the most caring. They're just there to get a paycheck, clock-out, and go home.

Took my 2024 c8 in for a oil change two days ago first one @ 1,000 miles , they told me my transmission is leaking and want me to bring it in tomorrow 😮 hoping it’s not to serious

I have the Paragon Touring and I love it. Such a sweet sound - similar to the Z06. Also sold my coupe and bought an HTC. Will never go back to a coupe again.

These spacers are prone to leak, they help prevent compressor surge but also reduce spool from factory setup. The best route to take is using PTG race valves.. you don't get the sound, but the boost leak is eliminated and the air is recirculated into your intake to keep your turbo spooled.

My 2022 Z51 is currently at the Dealership. 4400 miles and lost Reverse and all even gears. Check Engine light is on. Shifts 1,3,5,7. This happens in Auto and Manual both. I will update when repairs are complete.

Drive your C8 in manual mode. The problem is the AFM active fuel mgmt software. It will not show as a fault. AFM will wreak havoc on your Trans. Driving it in manual mode will disable the AFM software and will resolve the issue. GM head engineer for C8 design covered this issue a while back.

This is definitively a wing and is why I'm using it as an example. Therefore, the next time you wonder whether or not a an aerodynamic device is a wing or a spoiler simply look at the end of this wing at the 2:01 mark. Notice the curved shape which is thicker at the leading (front) edge and tapers (is thinner) toward the trailing (rear) edge. If you look at most aircraft you'll notice the wing is thick at the leading edge and tapers toward the trailing edge. It's that shape that results in lift. A spoiler on the other hand does NOT have such an aerodynamic cross-section and is designed to reduce drag by controlling the airflow off the back of the car in a manner that prevents it from inducing drag. Again: A wing produces downforce. Whereas a spoiler helps prevent drag*. Two distinctly different purposes and names. *Results in improved fuel mileage which varies depending on several criteria.

This is true... mercedes has it setup to with a electronic valve to recirculate the air to keep the turbo spooled...however under higher boost applications this has been known to leak. Many people making higher boost are going with mechanical bov's that are recirculated into the airbox. i.e. PTG race valves. If you want the "whoosh" but also don't want boost leak, then you can go with mechanical valves from Modal works or turbo smart. The spacer type VTA's (like in this video) are more just for a novelty sound.
