This man is related to me through both the Neville (his mother) and Greville lines. His great grandfather Sir Edward Greville was brother of my direct ancestor Mary Greville (nee somerville). Very interesting video guys!

They are all copies of most likely a Holbein. All commissioned 50 years after Henry VIII died. Odd that they would be considered such a treasure.

Knowing what Raphe and all of England must have known of Henry VIII by then, why on earth would he even want a portrait of him? He forced England to leave the Catholic Church in order to *ANNUL* his 23 year marriage, then creates false charges against the woman he left his first wife for, has her BEHEADED, and then marries his next wife 11 DAYS after the beheading. Absolute bottom feeder, a lowlife of incredible proportions

He probably commissioned the painting to suck up to Elizabeth and the Tudors. Kinda cheesy really. I prefer the more original paintings, like Holbeins.
