But Chavez continually landed power punches as evident in the state of Melrick’s face. Meldrick continually took powerful rights all night long. Meldrick was thoroughly battered, bloodied, and beaten from start to finish. His eye socket bone was literally fractured. Even if he were to have been saved by the bell and awarded the victory due to more pitter patter landing, for all intents and purposes he was still beaten. He was never the same after this fight. Meldrick Taylor and his career for the most part was ended that night by Julio and if you didn’t see that then you don’t know how to watch boxing.
