My dogs came home from an adventure yesterday and were COMPLETELY covered in these evil, disgusting, wretched stickies. I shaved the littlest one, but my shepherd and pit bull won't tolerate shaving. Thanks for sharing!

I had heard about cornflour, seeing you use and how is it was. I will give it a try. Zinnamon is not a fan of being brushed and it's a long process to even get near her with a comb or flicker brush. When I picked her out she had a very loose curl almost wavey, she has extremely fine hair with the highest poodle curls and she mats up so easily I stopped putting her collar on. I had her trimmed 3 months and I cried when I saw her 'Z' was hacked, she had devitts all over her.Needless to say I won't be going back...

OMG why can't people just provide info without sharing tons of personal details that NOBODY cares about? Then there's the repetitive over instructing - we aren't stupid so you don't need to speak slooooowly and repeat the same thing 5 different ways.. 20min to give 2min of info. We don't care. Them there's the Muzak.

I got a stray labradoodle last week from the rescue shelter. Its been 7 months since my terrier mix Honey passed at 16 years old. They told me she had recently had a litter but the officer that got her didn't see any pups anywhere where she was found. She hadn't been groomed in a long time as her hair, growing in a spiral, was about 4-5 inches long and some matting in tight balls. I got her to the vet right away and he said she was between 3-4 years old and in good health though a little under weight at 40 lbs. I then took her to the groomer for a makeover and what a beautiful dog! She is the most loving and sweetest dog I've ever had and so smart! She learned her new name (Lucy) in a day or so and picked up a couple hand commands with relative ease. She has to get her spay next week hopefully if the shelter finds another volunteer vet as the previous one died recently. It will give away my age but now when I come home I get to say, "Lucy I'm home". Cheers!

I've tried other slicker bruses, and yes, they do the job but they are stiffer, a little harder on the dog. I've had mine for 5 years and nothing has failed on this brush and I do a two to three groom a week.
@dianeoliver93142 ай бұрын
On Jake I hold the hair back with my hand. She is using a comb. They say not to bus a dog more than 10 times in one spot to avoid brush burn. You can return to that spot after a break. Since you are shaving him down before bathing him maybe you won’t have to brush him. I don’t know.

When you are longing for the companionship of a furry friend, you don’t think about certain things. You’re just happy to find a dog or cat you can afford. .

Thanks for this video. I am a professional groomer and we have tons of doodle clients. I always have to take my greyhound comb on check-in to show their dog is severely matted. I often have to shave down. I will show this video to my clients who claim to brush their dogs to show how it is actually done (it's hard to demonstrate to them in the salon). Thank you for this!

As hairstylist I watched enough dog grooming videos and taught myself to groom my doodle. We rescued a 5 year old Bearnadoodle and I had no idea that these dogs fur grew so much so fast. I use a 3/8 guard for my wahl clipperand cut her 2x a month to keep her cute. I brush her every other day. My dog's hair is wavy with some straight and curl. Thanks for posting your time lapse video.

People are paying thousands for doodle crosses without registration papers as well.

I shaved my doodle not realizing that the length of the blade (being the longest) still was WAY shorter than I wanted and he went from a teddy bear to a standard poodle in no time. At the moment I was all about it and thinking it’s fun. “Okay this is different for summer” But days later I’m in tears as I miss his teddy bear look. Truly makes me sad knowing I have to accept this haircut for 3 months 😢😢 but feeling hopefully he will be soft and cuddly by winter. Oh gosh that’s so far away!

Thanks. My doodles both seem to have incredibly sensitive skin. So they are in fact scared of being brushed. My question too is, how do you properly reach places like the belly and the paws as someone who's motor skills aren't the best? I really struggle to get there properly (even when the dogs are standing) without laying them on their back on my lap. I'm definitely planning on reintroducing them to brushing. It clearly causes them a lot of pain (I do use a slicker brush)😔

The calculator didn't work for me, it estimated 23 Lbs when fully grown. Puppy is 3.14 lbs now at 2 weeks. The parents were 50 and 60 Lbs. Breeder estimated 50-60LBS, consistent w/ parents' size.

I get my doodle molly groomed every six weeks. However she broke a toe and had to skip a grooming because of splint so it was two months and they did have to shave her today because if extensive matting. I am happy to hear it will grow back rather quickly.

Hi there I have a doodle that is a farm dog covering acreage We keep him close cut in the season of summer and because he’s a retriever mix so he is always after the ground squirrels 😂 I have found that at the end of a busy day of being himself I grab some coconut oil and easily pull out the sticky burrs I know the corn starch method works too but I wanted to let y’all know that this is also an option and it is soothing to their body

Does it have to be a metal comb ? I'm away from the house, and unfortunately didn't bring one. I have a fine toothed flea comb with me

Perfect timing! Our doodle, Tanner comes in with all of these little green burrs everyday and I spend the evening combing them out. I used the Chris Christensen slicker brush tonight and it also did a great job. I have more to work on in the morning as Tanner was getting tired and grumpy. Overall though he’s been great about it.

I’m watching this pretty late, we got our dog Nova from a breeder. We were under the impression he’s a golden doodle, however after doing the embark test, we found out that he’s a pure poodle! It is really strange as he has some telltale retriever signs like shorter and broader muzzle and the feathery tail from a golden retriever. We are planning to get the wisdom panel test done. After some research we came to the conclusion that these tests are not 100% accurate either. Having said that the amount of joy and happiness Nova brought to our small family cannot be measured and the most important thing is that both your and our puppy is happy, healthy!! ❤

A doodle is not a breed, but a mix. People breeding Poodle mixes are not ethical, they are just out to make money. People should just buy Poodles. It's simple. If you want Poodle characteristics, which has been bred for over 100 years, why not simply get a Poodle? The Golden Doodle market charges a lot more for this mix. It astounds me that people will pay as much as $5,500 for Doodles. At the price you paid, it should have told you something. Just love her and that's all there is to it.

Embark I think is just a joke. They wanted a picture, fill out questioner. Then sent us back a questionable result. I am very skeptical of their test. I feel like it's just their guess.

I just recently shaved down Maverick, my 16-month old Labradoodle puppy. I had to because we live in a small town in Southern NV out in the Mojave Desert, it's in 90s and 100s plus he was badly matted. He's a lot more comfortable than before, he seems a lot happier and isn't panting.
