Used Cornstarch for an intensely matted Havanese pup's tail. Spent about an hour with hubby holding her and me using cornstarch. She was very calm. We enjoyed it and removed all the mats. It was awesome. Thank you.

I’m glad you mentioned that disclaimer at the end. Don’t dematt for longer than 15 mins. Thanks for that 🙏🏾💙

Thank you so much for sharing this! I’m going to try this on my golden retriever. He’s always getting matted hair behind his ears.

This very day I found out about corn starch! It works, but most importantly be patient! Do not yank or tug at the mat as it will injure the skin beneath it! I like you video!

Omg thank you for sharing - I have an 8 month mini labradoodle who developed tangles on her ears and I simply wanted to cry before I watched this video. I trimmed a couple of them earlier today but now I have hope that I can get the rest out with this solution. Pray for us!!!

Regina, same!! I found a matt tonight behind my 7month old mini labradoodles ear and I’ve been completely devastated and wanting to cry. So obviously… I’ve been googling what do to about it (besides calling the groomer) and am feeling SO much better after finding this great video and channel!

I had heard about cornflour, seeing you use and how is it was. I will give it a try. Zinnamon is not a fan of being brushed and it's a long process to even get near her with a comb or flicker brush. When I picked her out she had a very loose curl almost wavey, she has extremely fine hair with the highest poodle curls and she mats up so easily I stopped putting her collar on. I had her trimmed 3 months and I cried when I saw her 'Z' was hacked, she had devitts all over her.Needless to say I won't be going back...

Chloe is ready for a nice nap!! What a sweet sweet girl. I wonder if it would work on a tight matt behind a golden retriever's ear?

Yes it should

Would this work for cats as well?

My doodle gets horrible mats on her hair by her mouth would this work there? Like her mustache area?
@DoodleDoodsYT2 жыл бұрын
It could work but I'd advise against it for the mouth area as it's going to be way more sensitive and not a good experience for her. There are actually ways to keep the area trimmed to prevent mats and still looks good. How often do you take her to the groomer?
@aintgotnotltc2 жыл бұрын
@@DoodleDoodsYT she’s a puppy so I haven’t had her too long as to have a groomer routine but I took her once and I think she’s definitely due again. I’ll have to do some research to see if I can help her at home too

can I ask why the slicker brush you have is better then others? I have one already, and I know that one costs a lot more. Just want to know why its worth the value. Thanks
@DoodleDoodsYT4 жыл бұрын
Great question. The Chris Christensen I'm always using is superb due to its long pins, which ensure brushing all the way down to the skin. Here's actually a great video we made comparing slicker brushes that should answer your question more thoroughly: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZbdiIWhepV_ptU

Do you need to wash out afterwards. I would think it would gather dirt and cause more mats
