I'm pretty sure everyone who installs one of these puts the pieces on in the wrong orientation on at least one of the assembly steps.

IMPORTANT ! For anyone wondering, i did this job over the weekend. You DO NOT need to take the fairings off. It is completely unnecessary. You just need an 8 inch extension for your ratchet driver. The only thing you need to do is remove the two plastic pop rivets where the fairings come together under the bike. There is plenty of room for the entire stock headers CAT, and breadbox to come out under the bike. Also, you will need a sturdy pick tool to remove the old copper crush washers from each header. Header 1, is on the foot clutch side, and they are in order, 1,2,3, ( 4 on the foot brake side)

Curious as to the advantage of the full system versus what you did with the decat pipe? Were you not happy with the decat previously? Was the new system lighter or did it create more HP? THanks.

I have a couple questions I just got this system and I’m about to install. 1 after 2 years does the carbon fiber still look good? 2 did you use the copper anti-seize compound at the joints? 3 id you find any leaks after you had it on for awhile? Thanks for the time great video.

I recently bought this bike used with this full exhaust installed. There is a small carbon fiber heat shield that is sold separately that fits at the front of the can right on the bend near the right foot peg. The previous owner did not have it installed, but it was the first thing I did after getting a severe burn. I was in my garage and was moving the bikes around so I started up the Ninja and of course only wearing a pair of shorts ... Needless to say that heat shield is worth every penny.

Good video. I too have the motodynamic tail tidy for my 1000sx, and wanted to install a shad top box mount, but wasn't sure if it would work. Did you have to buy different bolts, and nuts that go through the sub-frame to the MD fender eliminator? I was looking at the install instructions on shads website, and it looks like the mount comes with bolts that thread directly to stock rear fender. Thanks

From the reading I have done this bracket kit and caliper setup also will fit the gsxs750. I have a 2015 and would like to do this upgrade. There is very little info I can find about it and only one forum thread detailing the upgrade but all pics are missing. More research ahead! Great video you are very detailed!

I just finished a similar caliper upgrade/ swap on my SV650 with a set of Tokico SV1000 4 piston calipers +++. full rebuild kit was only $32 for a 2 caliper kit, but EVERYTHING else adds up FAST...SVRP adaptors, titanium hardware, and after seeing the cost of new OEM rotors (!!) I went with Brembo Serie Oro Rotors to replace the worn stockers & saved $150.. ON BREMBOS!?! , new EBC pads, ATE super blue fluid, Speedbleeders.. paired these parts with an also fully rebuilt and restored radial MC from an '08-'16 Yamaha R6 and F ME !!!!!! these damn brakes are absolutely incredible any more, it is such a dramatic improvement. Everything particularly the MODULATION is just ridiculously better. Compared to the OEM system.. it is almost scary, I feel like I'm having to learn how to ride all over again....at least... ride quickly... My brakes were in fine shape before rotors were showing wear but probably another 2 years away from needing to be replaced. Pads were good relatively fresh, I'd installed Galfer SS lines and did a complete fluid flush etc... everything worked perfectly fine, No issues at all,....but when you then feel how a proper 4 piston setup with fresh pads, rotors + rebuilt calipers + radial MC....Jaysus !!! it's literally night and day difference.. I'd read it was a big improvement, particularly the MC upgrade...but I was not prepared for HOW much better it is.. 1 finger stoppie time... All said, It was NOT cheap and I scrimped every where I could, using crashed MC and used calipers etc,..but I did use new parts and spent probably a cpl hundred on extra bits I didn't technically need right now,...but that I wanted, to do a properly comprehensive upgrade +++... (Brembo rotors, full Titanium hardware conversion: adaptor mounting bolts/caliper bolts/caliper mounting bolts, VHT paint, HH sintered pads, Spiegler alloy banjos ATE Super Blue fluid.) .. subtract all the extra shit, I still spent almost $700 on the basic brake upgrade parts : Calipers, MC, rebuild kits, Replacement Brembo MC feed pipe, CNC adj. brake lever, adaptors, SHIPPING, brake lines, fluid, HH sintered brake pads,.. pushin $650 Regardless, its the best money I've spent on ANY motorcycle ever.

The sensible persons Pan. Great bike. Going back and forth to rallies I have sometimes covered 800 plus miles Friday to Sunday. Now with a smidgen under 35k on the clock the ABS actuator has failed. Honda can not longer supply a replacement. It won’t pass the MOT meaning bike off the road until further notice.

Hi, can I ask you if I can use those nissin calipers without the adaptor plate on a Sv1000 from 2004 ? And if yes can i also use a 320 rotor ?
@RaptorV1USA
@RaptorV1USA Жыл бұрын
possibly,... you would have to actually compare mount points and offset for the rotors but it SHOULD work alot of that stuff is fairly standard but youll have to check to confirm........ The SV1000 has 4 piston tokico calipers tho so why swap to a different 4 piston caliper setup ? I'm not sure the Nissins are any better than the Tokicos..... they are basically the same parts from different MFG's.
@hukebein92

@@RaptorV1USA hi , thank for the answer first of all, I know that tokico and nissin should be similar but nissin are gold color and reading in some forum people say they are generally better in tolerance and how they are build , I will take a chance and buy them and mount , thanks !
@hukebein92
@hukebein92 7 ай бұрын
@@RaptorV1USAI have swapped for this nissin gold from a Kawasaki z1000 2004 on my sv1000s and it went straight forward without any modification, I had only to rebuild the o-rings on the pistons just to be sure everything is 100% safe , I don't know if it is placebo but to me it seems nissin are better then the tokikos , might be that also the pads have made the improvement
