Great videos, have helped alot Just a bit of feedback, I've just done this, and the oil extractor tube can only go down far enough to extract 7 to 8 litres on my KAD43 engine. The depth I can insert the extraction tube is only 1 to 2cm longer than the dipstick before it bottoms, and doesn't get to the lowest point of sump. After speaking to a local marine engineer he says it's not unusual and they simply replace whatever oil they can recover (sometimes only 50% of sump capacity) This doesn't sit well with me, but not sure what is to be done?

Great video. I've been watching it repeatdedly after the water circulation pump belt snappet on my KAD32. One question: How do you lock the pulley for the cirulation pump belt? Mine just rotates when I try to remove the bolts.
@PeterDahl-d4x2 ай бұрын
Wrong belt for the waterpump. Shall be a 7PK910 . To long belt will over time damage the belttensioner wheel. You must tension the belt in the right order, Waterpump then alternator, then compressor(supercharger) and if fitted powersteering pump.

Good afternoon. I have a Kamd 300 installed on my Rodman 870. The fuse blew after an hour or so of running, in addition to being an excessively noisy compressor, the diode is fine and a priori the winding is also fine. I wanted to install a switch in the instrument panel to deactivate it. I don't know if there is a cable that goes directly there or if I have to install a relay and wire from the Compressor to the heater to be able to disconnect it. In case you can help me. Thank you.

Did you also torque the water circulation belt with a torque wrench? I only noticed you is the torque for the compressor belt.

The cover is not cosmetic; it's designed to keep your hands, sleeves or shirt tails from becoming tangled in the belts as they spin.

That oil extractor will not extract all the oil. The tube is not long enough to get all the way down to the bottom of the oil pan. Ask me how I know........ That engine takes 12 qts of oil and you only extracted 6qts. You would have to fill that container up two times.

Hi, doesnt the kad44 take 11 litres of oil ? just wondering as i only seem to find those pumps in 7litre capacity
@fischerpric39 Жыл бұрын
I think so, same with my KAD42. I found a 15L one from a company called EWK or you can fill it, dump it and go back for the last few litres of oil.

If you don't tighten up all bus bars properly this test is for the bin! The lowest cell voltage will trigger the BMS and other cells with loose bus bars might still have some capacity left. I am afraid you have to do this test again and overthink your setup in advance - not to loose all your data at shut down ;-)

Isnt that water circ belt (861564) used for the old style pulley? The new style should use 3582424. It’s a bit shorter so you don’t run out of adjustment.

So when the nest reaches the desired temperature, does it turn the diesel heater off, or just wind it down to it's lowest setting?
@michaeldunn5362 Жыл бұрын
does it still run through its shutdown and startup process? or does it kill the power before the heater is done in its cool down after shut off?
@MrDiscoseeker Жыл бұрын
That was what I wondered.... I understand there are thermostat wires to the programmer and looks like this would override those (?)

I've linked both of my kad43 pentas together in the same manner you've done, but I'm only able to get 4 gal into the circuit. There's no air in the lines, and it's flowing nicely. I can't figure out why it's not taking the 20 ltrs it should be. Any idea what's wrong?

I have the same setup as you; but we also have a 2kw 230v water heater element in our Calorifer. Can we connect the 230v cable into the water heater side; if it’s got 12v power in, and 12v heating? Will the 230v mix with the 12v?
@Boatingtube Жыл бұрын
Yes i subsequently used the hot water side of the nest to control the immersion heater in the calorifier. You can't wire the heater element up tithe nest as the current draw is too high you need to use a 12v controlled mains relay somethingvlike this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/123368952599?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=rddb5PpqRci&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=gqthl8ThSZq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@liamhainsworth9620 Жыл бұрын
@@Boatingtube this is excellent help. For the 12v module; I assume the IN next to the DC + and DC - was connected to the OUT on the nest module? I’m guessing that sent the control signal; and the module then triggered the AC side?

Anyone else tried this? It’s ideal for what I’d need, but nowhere else have I seen the heat link running off 12V battery feed.

2 question if I may sir? Do you need wifi on 24/7 for the heatlink to talk to the thermostat unit? Any idea of the range between the two? What an amazing video

Once configured it should work locally without WiFi u just won't be able to remote start. Not sure on the range should be at least 5 metres though if not more

@Boatingtube could you advise what exactly you do with. The two red wires. Looks like they are joined. Also by the eberspacher you have a red going to the yellow. Is that from the two joined reds at the nest. Or a completely different cable from the battery. As mine just runs the fan and doesn't go through the normal pre checks. I have a d4 plus. Thx in advance.

I am modeling my battery after your setup except 24V. I will have (4) four-cell modules with two modules in each steel box wired in series with an 8s 100A BMS for each box. I'm hoping to create 8S2P configuration. I'm not sure how to wire the two boxes together. Anyone have insight into how it should done?

@Boatingtube2 жыл бұрын
the thermostat is on the fresh water (antifreeze side ) this is flushing the sea water side so no thermostat. check you do not have an anode in your engine though as this will fizz it away. most stern drives (like the KAD's) don't seem to have them but worth checking
