Man, the Mavs didn’t play a single game like this against my wolves. Luka and Kyrie made so many ludicrous shots and never turned the ball over. Not taking any credit from Boston but damn.

Lively could have got 10 fouls by the 4th not even counting that call against Jaylen for his 5th. He's a huge hacker and no rookie is gonna get the benifet of calls over All Stars in finals

Dwade is actually much closer to Harden as a playmaker than you guys give him credit for. He's one of the best passers at the 2 guard position ever, and unlike Harden, a lot of his assists weren't dribble the bank for 20 seconds before passing it to a guy in the corner. He also wasn't surrounded by the shooters that Harden was. Another thing that needs to be taken into account is Mike D'antoni. Harden before D'antoni was averaging between 25-29 points per game, 5-6 rebounds, and 5.8-7.5 assists per game. His first four years in Houston he averaged 27, 5.4, and 6.6. With D'antoni his numbers skyrocketed. His first season was his 29, 8, and 11 assists campaign, then his 30, 6, and 9 MVP season, then his 36 and 34 ppg seasons. Harden averaged 27, 5.4 and 6.6 before D'antoni to 32.4, 6.7 rebounds, and 8.8 assists under him. His usage went from 29, 28, 31 and 32 the four seasons prior (average of to 30.2 percent) to 34, 36, 40, and 36 percent with D'antoni for an average of 37%. His field goal attempts, 3 point attempts, and free throw attempts also skyrocketed.

I feel like Dallas will bounce back and look much better in game 2 but they could do that and still lose the game. Boston has room for improvement as well. Porzingis didn’t play that much, they were missing shots they normally make, their offense in general was nowhere near the best it can be. If the Mavs don’t win game 2 they have no chance at all in this series.

I agree both teams have huge room for improvement (especially mavs). I find it funny how mavs fans and ppl who chose them to win the series will say that mavs had previously lost 2 game 1s in blowouts but in those games okc shot 45% from 3 and clippers shot 50% from 3. Celtics shot their regular season average of 38% from 3 yesterday not like this game isn't replicable on the offensive side of the ballm

Derrick lively did the most in last stretch of the third to throw their comeback away. It was so frustrating to watch, there was a moment where he brushes off the ref after a foul call(that was a clear foul) and from there on he got like 3 fouls in 4-5 minutes and completely halted the momentum.

Why are we acting like Tatum was a negative in this game? His sheer gravity is exactly the reason that the team was able to get going. The man was getting tripled damn near every time he drove and doubled most of the time. I’m disappointed in his shooting and that can be a cause for concern for sure. But let’s not act like he wasn’t getting swarmed by defenders. He broke the game with his gravity and abused Dallas’ game plan. If they continue to double and triple like this the Celtics will repeat performances like this because everybody else will continue to get easy looks.

Even if the Celtics win, they still haven't truly been tested and this championship will have an asterisk. We must wait until next season to see if this current 64 win team is legitimate. They legitimacy will depend upon them having playoff matchups in which teams have 0 imjuries.

So the whole buzz before this finals game 1 was that they'll lose to the mavs (some said easily) because they had one of the easiest runs to a finals (which they dominated their opponents) but even if they win the finals there's an asterisk cause of their run still. I swear yall want boston to build a time machine and bring back the '96 bulls, '17 warriors, '01 lakers for this ring to "count" in their eyes😂

I actually agree with Dorris Burke that Tatum has become much more patient and mature. He trusts his team to do what they do and he’s overseeing everything and filling in the gaps. He didn’t need to focus on scoring early because everyone else was, so he diverted his attention to rebounding. Then stepped up when they needed some points here and there. Ppl might pick JTs game in this one on paper but it was refreshing to see real time

And watch him pop off scoring wise for game 2. That’s what it means to be a leader of a team, trusting your teammates to do their role and picking up in areas where they can’t

The mavs looked flustered overall but kyrie and lively had awful performances in my opinion. Kyrie was scared and making poor decisions when he wasn’t making ridiculous shots. Lively was hacking the entire game and getting blown by when he was playing up too high. Definitely a master class by the Celtics in this one

Dont forget that the Mavs cut it down to a 8 point lead after they went down by 30. If just one or two more players on Mavs could have been consistent and not only Luka, it would have been game. Porzingiz will not have another one of these games. Mavs in 6
