These huge boats are not really suitable for inland waterways. To be honest there is now nothing picturesque about the Broads. We had a couple of holidays on the Broads many years ago, and the majority of boats were sail boat and the odd converted Navy boats. All you see now are huge blobs of white plastic, a great pity.

That position gives us a much better idea of how much clearance these boats have going under the bridge.

I've been a Tug master and a skipper in my local harbour for over ten years I've never seen nothing like it. Surely the boat hire companies show people how to leave a mooring properly Half of them don't have a clue what to do... The boats must go back smashed to bits every one seems to be in a hurry.. Great channel tho I'm up in September I'll keep a eye out for you..

Some people should not be on the tranquil Broads if they are going to exhibit river rage. Being mistaken for Dave Whitworth could never be taken in the wrong way. So, are these considered narrowboats? They are obviously sized to avoid fixed obstructions but I have not seen these designs before.

There's a tendency for the crew to pull the bow in too tight before the stern is alongside . The steerer than can't get the stern in and can't understand why.

I have never seen a boat like that before.

Goodness. Very few realise that you moor up heading into the flow of water, and with the wind on this occasion going in the same direction and pushing the water, but they were all trying to moor with the wind and water pushing the stern out.

Hi Jonny, that was us in the Bosun 2 day boat from Ferry Marina shouting hello 4 minutes in.

Fending off with the boat hook is a no no, should only be used for hooking some thing out of the water!

I was always of the opinion that boats had a helm (steering wheel) why am I seeing and hearing too many boats using bow and stern thrusters during forward motion, does anyone have “chippies” any more, or can people take boats out without proper instruction?

Never have been to the broads before, I now understand why fibreglass boats are hated so much. I think the designers have an annual contest to see who can come up with the ugliest design, now please excuse me while I go to the toilet to bring up my meal.

Never a dull moment like the M25 for boats.😅 You can have any colour as long as it's white!😅

Therein lies a lesson not to park your small boat next to a de-masting area! This waterway is full of hire boats and a bit of common sense is needed around these notorious spots.
