Surprised Rod didn't say Twilight Imperium. Jimmy should have mentioned one of the games he has purchased with all of its expansions :) . For me Pericle: Gathering Darkness, Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition, and Core Space were all expensive and still worth it.

I’m pretty sure my issue with expensive games is that I Stockholm myself into believing they have to be good because I spent so much money on them. That being said, I do love Nemesis.

Good picks. Unsettled is one that took me a couple years to finally get. It broke the bank, but it is such a unique experience. I think it was worth it.

Time of Legends: Joan of Arc, Solomon Kane, Frostpunk, Isofarian Guard, and Oathsworn! Yeah, I used to have a job where I could get those! 😆 Now to find a new job so I can at least get The Mind. :P But, yes....Totally worth it. 😅

The simultaneous play really makes this shine even at 6. It does slow things down just beacuse there are more people involved but it doesn't slow it down much.

the prices was EX shipping EX vat. Mine cost a total of €225. Of course it's not worth it. But it's the only way to get. And you can sell it for at least half the price, one day. Note that there is a fan expansion for extra claws and for A3 variation. So you would have liked to have ordered extra sleeves lol.

@@boardgamecloset compared to Dead Cells, it is. The core price of 170, in comparison,. includes a very good rulebook, 2+ years of comments and corrections, 5-10 years to develop. Tons of sleeves. And easy to resell. €170 is roughly equivalent to hotel night plus breakfast, €225 would be 2-3 hotel nights. Only difference is that hotel nights don't take up much space in your closet after the fact. All I'm saying is, all hobbies have a cost to them. Even pnp.

We found the rules rather complicated, so thanks for the game play example. It's so easy to miss a rule, but if everyone is playing by the same rules (even if they're wrong), to me, that's ok. That then becomes a "house rule". The only conflict comes in when you play with folks who know the rules differently. 🙂

Rule correction at 3:27 you say if she wanted to should could just take this one wild. Actually she can't. You can only take 1 wild if there is only wild tiles left at the location. Rule correction at 5:24 you say you will lose 4 points for 4 tiles taken but actually the 1st player token itself does not count for the loss. Token is not a tile. Rule correction at 6:25 the first player to start in the second phase is the player who just acquired the first player token

You teaching the game wrongly. You shouldn’t count first player token as a negative point. For example: if you take 3 yellow tile with the first player token, you are going back -3 not -4. Unfortunately, you took the first player token as a tile too.

We have played it. Waterdeep definitely feels more worker placement and euro. Champions has more of the dice rolling and chance. Both great games.

One big difference with Risk is how you get your recruitment and income at the end of your turn, rather than having to hope you maintain it until the start of your next turn. This gives you incentive to play more aggressively. Not that I think defensive play is particularly effective in Risk, but it's still a pretty big change.

Hi there…. What do you do at the end of an adventure? Items and gold? To you keep those for the next?

In these three versions (4edition) you level during the game by rolling a natural 20 and depending 5 xp.. you don't carry anything over into the next adventure but you do get a treasure at the start of the game. In the newer games you level by spending gold in town after the adventure and you get gold a lot as treasures; but you don't get a treasure at the start. So basically, in the older ones, you just go to the next adventure.
