I’ve had my son’s with OH for five years and really like the investment options as well!

Great video - I'm hear in Ohio, using this 529 for my two kids. After watching, I realized I was invested in the Ready-Made Target Portfolio instead of the Vanguard Ohio Target Portfolio. The RMTP is about 80% more in fees/cost to manage than the VOTP. Super easy to make the switch.

I'm really struggling with why I would get a 529 for my son. I also live in FL, and if he goes to college and assuming Bright Futures is still around, there's no way he's getting into any decent college (which are the more expensive ones anyhow) without also hitting the qualifications for Bright Futures. My understanding is that the order that Florida would use the funds are 529 and then Bright Futures for any balance remaining. So, essentially, I'd be giving up the benefit of Bright Futures. Is that true? What am I missing here? *My current plan is using my Roth IRA contributions to fund what he may need and when he's a little older, hire him and fund his own Roth IRA to fund his college. Thanks!

That may be true. Everyone is different. Your logic makes sense.

So, FL is not the best plan anymore? I'm so confused.

It's my favorite plan but they only allow in state to use it. I'm about to do another video on my 529 plans in the next day or so.

I have two kids eight year old and a four year old. How much should I be putting in for a month? I have 8000and 4000 another currently. Doesn’t seem like they would have enough for a college. The way the market has one call dad joke

How do you roll over the money from the Utah 529 into this new account?

I haven’t done the actual paperwork but you can likely initiate the transfer through the Ohio portal.

Why did you do this one vs just doing the vanguard plan?

Either is fine, but minimum investment is much lower for Ohio and both have the same fund I used.

@@TravisSickle what do you think about the schwab kansas plan? i plan on doing a 529 with the most aggressive growth option i can, one thing i don't like about the schwab plan is they want to keep 5% in a cash option and i dont understand that
