I am non-religious. I do not believe in a god(s) and I do not disbelieve in a god(s). I worship the world around me and how beautiful the Universe is, and how precious life and humanity is. The hijab is a powerful piece of fabric, for sure, and there are days where I feel that it could ground me and remind me to live in the moment and take care of myself. However, my hair is part of expressing myself so I wouldn't want to wear it all the time? Is this ok? Also because I am not muslim can I show my hair a bit and maybe wear a t-shirt with it? I undestand that hijab is about modesty but I guess for me because I am not muslim I wouldn't really be wearing hijab anyways.

I have plenty of friends who are Muslim and take ownership of their faith but not wear a hijab, some others do. I read here: we do it because Allah says so and he has the ultimate truth. So my next question is: Why does Allah wants you to wear hijab? Which are the commandments? I am really interested in knowing, truly from a place of love ❤

Its just a scarf. Women used to wear them in the sixties when they had their rollers in- see Ena Sharples coronation st in the 70s and of course hilda ogden and norah batty- all dyed in the wool scarf wearers.

I'm a Christian and I feel in my heart to be more reserved, I remember my grandmother covering her hair with a scarf every time she left the house and she was Catholic. As a child, I thought it was very different here, today I understand that women have always covered their hair throughout history.

I am agnostic, and I enjoy covering my head during the winter. It is very cold where I live in the winter, so I wrap it over my head, ears, and neck. I also like the way it looks and makes me feel beautiful and feminine.
