I've got about as much building experience as you did before you started (you've got way more than me by now!) but I'd have to imagine that sheeting the top of those containers under the decking is the only way to ensure that the water runs off, maybe a marine ply would be enough, if it's on a decent slope? I could never do this the way you've done it , I'd need to have every single thing planned out beforehand - but that's why you'll have built a house while I am still thinking about maybe trying it one day. I'm sorry about Boss-Lady, but you're doing awesome!!

I hear you when it comes to fire safety our time is almost up for the year things can get out of hand very quickly and you need to be extremely careful in Victoria there are certain things that you can do but you just need to take a bit of care for example providing it is not a total fire ban day you can have a very small fire going for cooking but that is it you can do welding and grinding you just need to be very mindful of any fuel source floating around because they will crucify you if you start a fire I think in the last 20 years that I have lived in rural Victoria there has been three bushfires in my town it's a little bit scary and it does give you a wake-up call in summer it's sort of puts you a little bit on edge

Hi new to your channel, this may have already been suggested, I thought maybe you could take a tarp to the waterhole to chuck over your stuff when it rains instead running back and forth. :)

You could build in frames on the wood flooring for Aluminum Grating in areas you might find problematic with standing water. Hinged grates for under floor access. It may also aid in airflow under the wood flooring. Check the manufacturer’s plate on the container doors for corten steel. Material loss from unprotected corten steel takes place with glacial slowness, so if its painted well enough, it should outlast you.

Hi Jasmin, .... too bad you couldn't get some light weight channeled metal or plastic sheets, (like your roof coverings). Have it angled like the roof to drain any water. ( installed under your deck framing),.... know what I mean? Great show this week!

Hey Jas, another fantastic week of progress and adrenaline fueled lessons! You were a Beautiful Beast kicking butt solo on those massive support beams!! How much do you estimate they weigh?? 😍🤯🤷‍♂️🤘😁🤘👏🙏🤞🎉 As for your conundrum on water, you have to create an artificial slope of some kind to get it to move naturally, or work out a way to keep ventilation extra breezey to rapidly increase evaporation. So, cheap thought would be to use tarps or plastic sheeting, and mount it beneath the deck mounts at the backside of the deck, and then connect it by overlapping down the side of the Container to create a smooth runoff slope. Which you could then have a gutter, and collect it all for your Rainwater Tank(s). Seal the ends off to keep it blowing in underneath, and I would think it should last nigh forever being hidden/protected by the deck itself anyway. But the thicker the Mil of the plastic/tarping used…the more durable it’ll be regardless. Sincerely sorry to hear about BossLady! ❤️‍🔥🫂🙏🤞🍀 Hope she’ll live for many more months or longer possibly, and love all your shared moments together! Nice first attempt at Raku Pottery as well!! 👏😍😁❤️‍🔥🫂🙏🎉 Glad to see they didn’t explode! You should check out some videos on the different kinds of things you can burn around the pottery to naturally create different colors/textures! Plus having a lid, or doing them straight in the ground the old school way gets some amazing results by slowing down the burn and containing the smoke. Feathers, hair, copper, different plants material, etc etc… Very easy things to source and place strategically around your pieces pre fired to make utterly unique one of a kind art!

Yes Jasmine do some research on this (ivermecton). Farmers use it on their sheep, horses, cows etc. I spoke to a girl when we were on holidays in Queensland and she was using it for her sick dog (had cancer and was old) but I didn't follow up because we were travelling around. You would have to work out the dose based on weight of your chicken. I'm not a medical person but even people take it as well. A farmer in his 70's told me he has taken it and he said he'd never felt better.

@@Choppingwoodcarryingwater_ I have heard cancers are caused by parasites and chemical additives in our food. It's not nicotine that's the problem in cigarettes, it's the chemicals they add. Nicotine can cure some problems. Big farma keeps wanting money for research. Funny how they haven't found the cures. There's no money in healthy people. They treat the symptoms not the desease more money in that side than cure.

Hello Jasmin I'm out in the bush in NSW on my own with just animals - 6 horses, 3 dogs and Lloyd, the cat. At 60 now, have had my fair share through the years of burying a couple of dogs and a few horses in their 30s. It never gets any easier, but they have taught me a lot of things along the way. I believe that the grief with our family animals is always much deeper because it is such a pure and uncomplicated love. But that chooky is having a great existence with you, and she knows it. And animals differ from us in that they live completely in the moment, and right now, she is very happy. Take care ❤

Have you ever looked into aircrete? I was curious if putting a lip around the edge of your container tops and pouring a little insulating slab of aircrete might allow you to flatten that surface and also add some insulation to the home. I learned from Colin Furze that concrete against steel does help against rust too because of alkalinity. Probably would need to seal the outside of the aircrete due to porosity

Sorry about Boss Lady, love the deck so far, can't wait to see it finished. I'm guessing having an open fire depends where you are, in vic we can have 1 just so long as it's not total fire ban. All our farmers start burning off about now as well. Any recommendations on trail cams? There's so many now it's hard to know what's good or not
