Appreciate it. I dont tend my beard for others. It's all experimentation for me until I find what I enjoy. That's how we develop style. Lol. Not trimming was actually started for charity. And I just kept going to see how long it could get. I'm doing a trim and shape up next week. That's what I was saying in the video. Time to edge it up. Cause it's not growing much more. Lol

Sez me: Save yo time and yo money, bruh. Keep it real and rock the gray. Growing old and looking old is a privilege, IMHO. Life is too short to worry about gray hair. This advice is legit. People definitely need to understand what you said about other places not being built with you in mind. That, right there, is key. I moved to Portugal after years of research and I love it here, but there are times when I am uncomfortable, especially living out in the country. There are also times when I don’t understand why they (the Portuguese) do what they do. But that’s perfectly fine, it’s not America, it’s a different country and for me it is worth it. If anything, the experience of seeing things done different is enlightening. Ultimately, it was the change I really needed. Thanks for posting content, you are one of the reasons I finally left home to explore other parts of the world. 👊🏾

I don’t know if we were trained, tortured, or brain washed, but you are right I think the majority of veterans with a brain in their head make better expats and appreciate being an expat even more because we are finally free to wear flip flops and a T-shirt.

I haven’t been to half the restaurants I’ve read or heard about and I still recommend them to people.
@Minoritynomad
@Minoritynomad 2 ай бұрын
If you recommend a place that you haven't actually eaten at, your opinion is invalid because you don't actually know if it's good or not. That's part of the problem. It's like me recommending travel destinations I haven't been to. Many influencers do that, and the world is worse for it. This idea that all exposure is good is a fallacy. Large crowds of non paying customers create more issues for businesses that can't be balanced by the possibility some might actually patronise them. There's long been a movement to avoid "tourist traps" and overtourism. Your position is exactly how these places become overrun and thus become unappealing to travelers looking for good businesses to patronise without the annoyance of dodging selfie takers and long lines.

Nothing wrong with having to pay for advertising when you can get it free?
@r-cdmx
@r-cdmx 2 ай бұрын
People taking their pictures in front of art for social media aren’t expected to buy the art. It’s simply about modern exposure. Nothing more nothing less.
@Minoritynomad
@Minoritynomad Ай бұрын
There's a big difference between taking a picture in front of art and taking up space, time of employees, and resources from operating businesses. This "free advertising" idea loses steam when weighed against a very real avoidance of customers from places with large tourist crowds. No one wants to go to a cafe in the morning when it's full of people just there to take pictures and videos. Businesses have long done just fine without "free" social media exposure by providing services to paying customers. Now, places literally have to put up signs and task workers to prevent non paying content creators from disturbing paying customers experiences. That'd a problem.
