Aha, so YOU'RE the one behind these! I've played the Sizzling Steaks and the Bopping Spree! One thing I will say is that the different punching threw me off on the latter, but the fact it's as good as it is is really impressive!

Very nice. I would love to see how you would build the scoring engine/card interactions in Balatro.

This just saved my life, I've been searching everywhere for a simple arcade vehicle controller with light physics, but most of the ones I found online are too physics oriented to simulate a real car. This one is so simple it made me feel silly for not thinking of doing this myself, but it's exactly what I was looking for. I very much appreciate that the project is available for download as well

Omg I can't believe I didnt discover this channel earlier amazing content. I have one question the unity git repositories or I should say the source code. Is it allowed to use them or parts of them for commercial games?

With the sizzling stakes one, you couldve used the texture nodon, and make it only show when that side is cooked

What I love about these videos is they give you just enough information to work out a concept but not too much so that you can figure out the details yourself.

The thing that hurts is this took you what seems to be a day, but as a 3d/2d artist this is going to take me months to figure out.

If anything this makes Balatro even more impressive. As someone who has tinkered with LOVE2D I have no fucking idea how most of these effects were accomplished in that framework.

Nowadays would be using the Spline Package be better? Also I was gonna ask how to apporach switching Dolly tracks for branching paths, but I assume using Splines would be better for that as well?
@mixandjamАй бұрын
Honestly using splines would probably be better, but you can still do it with tracks, if the origin point of the branch path has its origin on the exact position of the split, you could just transfer the track
@SubzeroBlack68Ай бұрын
@@mixandjam Thx for the info! Also just one more thing. Is this the kind of system that would work for a Crash Bandicoot style of platformer? (I could have sworn I asked this already but couldnt find my comment so maybe I didn't?... )

Gotta say - this channel continues to be the best channel for breaking down some iconic elements of the games people play Being able to attempt to recreate something on your own is an amazing skill to have in life - especially in game development Here's to hoping this channel continues on and inspires more people to take a crack at this sort of thing 😄

Hi, SUPER NICE video ! Can i please ask how do you make your custom c sharp script into the state machine as one of the nodes, just like in "3:08", you put your "interactive puzzle" 's function as a single node ? thanks

The work in my last company for 7 years on card games doesn't come close to the work in this video 😢 But in our defense, it started with Unity 2018 so we didn't have all the fancy shaders but the hand implemented here seems way better than ours 😅

Great to see a new video on this channel! Insightful as always. The on thing I was wondering at the start is if this isn't easier done with SpriteRenderers in world space, but it seems that using UI components and UI screenspace is a good fit too
