Awesome good to see you, also in southern U S of A. You're dogs are gorgeous. I have a 8 year old english mastiff who thinks he's a cat/human. 🤣 They are trully the best. We don't deserve them.

After thinking on it more, it seems they reciprocate the love we give them. The care we have for these creatures seems intuitive as is their care for us.

Are the Letters of Vincent Van Gogh primarily between him and Theo? For some reason I know Vincent kept up a rigorous correspondence with his brother, especially as his (Vincent's) mental health declined. That's a keeper.

Hey there. I'm catching up on some of your older videos, and I'm always drawn to videos about Folio Society books. My goodness. The packaging of books from The Folio Society certainly has changed over the last 3 years. Nowadays, 100% of the packing material is recyclable. As you know, they now use slotted, accordion-style cushioning that is recyclable. It's wrapped and wrapped (and wrapped) around each book/books. The opaque wrapping around the slip cases and books themselves is also recyclable. I remove the Scotch tape/cello tape first and that gets thrown away. Thanks for this. Regarding your books, I've always loved photographs of Native Americans. We vacationed in the Old West every summer and those photos bring back such good memories for me. On the Qur'an, frequently book pages are only gilded on the top, the thinking being that the gilding makes the book easier to clean/dust. Michelangelo considered himself, first and foremost, a sculptor and he accepted commissions for paintings only for the money. He also (illegally) performed autopsies (musculature, veins, bones, etc.) to inform his sketches and sculptures. The drawings of machinery tie to his reputation as an inventor. I know all of this because I read a really lengthy biography Michelangelo! Sorry for the LONG post.

Good on you. Or, I understand. About twelve years ago, I was living in a wonderful little chapel/apartment overlooking a vallye in the Ozarks, with more than 3500 books, and I decided to go north for the winter, spurred on by R J Stewarts book on Underground Initiation. It was harder than I had thought to find new homes for the books, and a few I did lug with me. But the experience was wonderful. It involved moving to the Pacific Northwest for what I had thought would be the period from Samhain to Imbolc, but I have mostly stayed, except for three years at the University of Arkansas to study quantum physics. There are many advantages to scribble one's plans in pencil. Of the making of books there is no end.

Me too. I'm not sure I can finish this video. I can relate to everyone wearing masks; one for the office; one with your extended family; one for your immediate family; one when you're posting on-line; one for the outside world. It's exhausting and it IS what society expects of you. If you change, you will face a strong expectation that you change back. Speaking strictly for myself, I fear that if I take off my masks, I will feel only rage. Very thought-provoking.

Aristotle once said, “Whosever is delighted in solitude, is either a wild beast or a god.” How do you relate to it? For Aristotle, we are social beings, and this is no mere accident; it is who we are.
@svenrolic9 ай бұрын
I think I'd relate to both. To tame the self to nonexistence or to open the hose and let it pour out leaves you empty either way. I choose to be a wild beast at times. The discussion on godhood can get a bit odd over text but there is plenty there from the concept of all being one (fragmented godhood, this incarnation being a piece) to the dream godhood of the greater self (you're god and all other expressions of existence are just pieces of your dream. It is a fun thing to ponder on occasion.
