This was fun! My top 5: 1 - Cashmerette Upton dress and skirt expansion pack. So many options! 2 - Love Notions Arlington sweaters and dress. Super cute and cozy. 3 - S9272 coordinate set (shell top, cardigan and pants) Those pants can be everything, from loungewear to PJs to work pants in ponte. 4 - Love Notions Aria button up shirt and dress. You can take it from classy blouse to everyday shirt to shacket. 5 - Itch to stitch Taroko skirt. Fun to wear, and in denim it can take the place of jeans. Honorable mentions: Cashmerette Concord tee and Love Notions Rhapsody blouse and dress. 5 is not enough! 😊

We're recently retired and I'm downsizing my pattern collection to prep for a move. I am getting rid of structured, office type clothes as I find I'm living in casual knit clothing most of the time. My three favorite patterns are all knit dresses because they are so cool and comfortable in the summer but still look nice to go somewhere. They can be made sleeveless for summer or long sleeves for winter.
@thecuratedcurvy27 күн бұрын
@@jennifermaddock4382 I am a new convert to the realm of knits but I am seriously enjoying the ease and versatility of the. So, I can definitely see how all three of your favorites would be in the knits category 💛
@SweetPeaSewing8 күн бұрын
Which 3 patterns are they?
@cathyswope517428 күн бұрын
1 - The Core tshirt free pattern. I've made it sooo many times, it's very hackable. And free! 2 - The tunic pattern from the Great British Sewing Bee. Its a woven tank that you could also size down and make in a more structured knit. And it's free too. 3 - The Clyde pants, cause those pockets! I've made it in everything from quilting cotton to corduroy. 4 - The kimono tee (renamed now) from Maria Denmark, another free pattern. Its my go to summer knit top, easy to squeeze out of that knit remnant. 5 - The capri pants from the Great British Sewing Bee. Pattern is free, directions are in the book from that season but they are such a basic pant you don't really need directions if you are an advanced beginner who has made pants. I make them with a side zip so i can curve the back seam. They are my summer go to pants but could easily be hacked to be longer and made out of a stretch denim or other bottom weight fabric.

I've heard so many good things about the Core T-Shirt pattern. I have it downloaded and all - just need to make it up, I have the feeling I will also be a fan. The cut is so good. I didn't know the sewing bee had patterns - I will be looking into that. We definitely agree on the Clyde Pants - I forgot to shout out those pockets!

Omg, first off, I’d cry… 1. Ilford Jacket because it can also be a shirtdress and a shirt. 2. Pietra Pants, because shorts, cropped, and full length with tapered or wide leg. 3. 100 Acts of Sewing Shirt No 1 because I have made it in knit and woven many times. 4. Zadie Jumpsuit. 5. Cashmerette Indigo Orchid panty. I’m covered!
@thecuratedcurvy28 күн бұрын
@@blufaerie 😆 definitely agree with the crying part! The Ilford is one that I’ve heard mentioned at lot and the 100 acts of sewing is a new to me brand but I’m definitely intrigued at being able to sew it with knits and wovens 🤔

Simplicity 9700 was a favorite of mine. I made it in red for a first date with my now husband in 1978. He mentioned this outfit in his wedding vows. When he tells the story of when he fell in love, he mentions this jumpsuit. We just celebrated our 55th anniversary, and I secretly made this jumpsuit again in red for our date. His jaw hit the floor again!

Wow, I remember living in Grapevine, TX. Back in the '90s when I began sewing, my dad would take me fabric shopping there. Now that I'm in NC, there aren't many great fabric stores around. But this December, I'm heading to Germany and I'm excited to shop for fabrics there!
