Why choose this image set? I’m a bloke and imho apart from failing the ‘would I show it to my wife and her not think me creepy’ test, it just looks pretty odd to me. I’m also a B&O fan and own a Beogram - although not a 4000 series - and their design, especially Jacob Jensen, again just my opinion, is enough to stand on its own. I’d be worried of B&O in Denmark thought this helped the brand.
@BangOlufsenManchester4 күн бұрын
I agree that the Beogram is enough to stand out on it's own and we have a video on this exact beogram 4000 on the channel which would be more targeted towards yourself. This short is showcasing a vinyl design being played upon the turntable. Art displayed on Art.

Hi I am from India 🇮🇳. A very Good day to you. I wanna buy B& O's EXPLORE but do not know if it produces STEREO sound. All U tube videos and its catalogue says it's sound is 360 degree SURROUND and a sound device as expensive as the EXPLOREE without STEREO sound and even if it has SURROUND will be a waste of my hard earned money. I shall appreciate your ki d reply please 🙏
@BangOlufsenManchester16 күн бұрын
Hey! Two Explore's would create stereo sound, just one alone creates the 360 degree surround sound that other youtube videos have mentioned due to the design.

Ian, you can now have the A9 mk 5 in a surround sound set up, is that right now they are part of the mozart set up ? & What are they like as front mounted speakers as i have a Theatre in the front & 2 beolab 8's in the rear ! Your thoughts ?

Yes you can kzbin.infovLcL4f95J28 It would look and sound beautiful having two as your front mounted speakers left and right and the two beolabs 8s behind you, would be an amazing experience for sure!

For many people of my age this was the B & O product that made us sit up and notice B & O. If you look at the range of turntables for sale in the mid-70s you will immediately see that this looks like something from a different world. It is a technological tour-de-force and many (nearly always male) teenagers, myself included, were really knowledgeable about turntables, we knew all about the physics of tracking weight, bias, effective mass etc. and so we understood that as well as tracking tangentially the turntable enabled very low tracking weight by having a short arm with low effective mass. Today we take the very slick nature of the automation of this turntable for granted but in the mid-70s you didn't see that kind of thing normally. If you look at an automated turntable of that time you'll see that it is really clunky in nature and the lever-like controls are very crude to use. We thought this was extremely expensive at that time, there was no "hi end" in audio then as there is today, this was about twice the price of the most expensive Thorens then and I remember people saying that nobody would pay that for a turntable no matter how cool it was. I wish I had bought one myself! So, truly a stellar product from Bang & Olufsen. I will mention that, as I'm sure you know, if you had said "vinyl player" in the mid 70s people would have thought you a little crazy.

Great video, thanks! I'd just point out that there shouldn't be any crackles and pops if you have a clean stylus and a clean/undamaged record.
@BangOlufsenManchester25 күн бұрын
It is most likely due to the vinyl record and the song playing. 'The Chain' starts off with background noise fading out so it is most likely a mix of that as the vinyl is twice as old as me!

I remember when this model came out - it was so cool. As a kid what i thought was really cool was how the needle-arm moved across the L.P at a right angle to the disc. One of those ‘Wow!’ Moments. I’m 60 BTW

@gaborozorai371426 күн бұрын
Converting it to a P-mount system may just be physically possible (but a stretch as even P-mount cartridges are much bulkier than B&O ones) but probably not economically viable. Replacement styli can be had from Soundsmith I believe.
@bertroost167526 күн бұрын
@@gaborozorai3714 A P-mount would give a person cheaper options rather than buying a stylus more expensive than the used table.
