I can't imagine the Steve Ignorant of yesteryear being overly impressed with the Steve Ignorant of today. The message in the lyrics no longer hits home. Its all one big nostalgia trip. White Fred Perry style tee shirts? Whats all that about?

I reckon Steve has earned the right to trade on the imagery of Crass, won't be getting any of my hard earned though

Unfortunately, the statement "There is no authority but yourself" is the flipside of Thatcher's statement "There is no such thing as society". The anarchopunks (and I was one) were closet Tories. All about self importance.
@arguably83902 ай бұрын
it's about indepenence, not self importance
@MegaPunkle2 ай бұрын
There is no authority. Full stop. The self is an ideological construction. I found most anachopunks to be VERY self-important.

I too was hugely influenced by Crass, then the scales fell from my eyes. Nothing but respect for Steve though, wish him all the best with his karaoke Crass show

"There is no authority but yourself" = "There is no such thing as society" Rimbaud and Thatcher sang similar songs.

Nice one. I’m sure it’s all tongue in cheek. Even though it’s pretty raw. They just bring a smile to your face. 👍. You’re ok for a feminist 🤪❤️X.

I had all the CRASS albums except for Penis Envy. The posters that came with these were huge and very conriversal. You had two images to choose from. I had these hanging on my wall during high school back in the mid 80s. If my mom or step dad looked deeper at these posters, they' would have been torn down, but I think the "Feeding of the 5000" poster made it all okay since that one was purchased at a Kmart.

Ignorant looks Johnny Rottenish here and every bit the punk rocker . Unfortunately Crass didn't have the Pistol tunes or Steve Jones guitar

Think this was a dark period for blinko, don’t write them off as a live band as I have loads of live tapes which are excellent, but they are all 10 years before this…think they out of practice and blinko maybe not in best frame of mind to be there. Very bloated from anti depressants. Then after this they recorded pope John Paul, says it all!!! They got it back tho….there is still time for another reunion if they could get it together…some of their newer material beats the 80s work
