Thank you for posting this video Trent Piker! RP- Nick Blinko is such a reclusive interesting individual. Primal Screamer is one of my favorite books...what can be separated as fact or fiction is to be determined. What is not to be determined is Nick Blinko and RP are one of the best bands ever. All of you who posted seeing them live, I must say I am a little jealous. Why didnt you take video?? :) Growing up in Hawaii we didnt have those opportunities as much.

markusa, it was definately the venue, I was there. I don't remember them playing Kings Cross. They did play the Richmond in Brighton after this which I also went to. There was a power cut and it had to be cancelled which almost caused a riot. You can see quite clearly it's the venue as you can see it's written in big neon letters above the band. Thought you might have spotted the clue there :-)

I was at this gig, was it the one when Schwarzenegger played as well? I was with Steve Ignorant. Nick is a bit wierd, went backstage with Steve after to chat with Nick & he was very unresponsive. They are one of my fave bands but they were rubbish that night. Ian Mackeye was there also!

I'm a little slow in finding such things like this R. Peni video. I always wanted to see them but like us, (A).P.P.L.(E), touring just isn't much of an option. I'm lucky that people filmed us when we finally made it to CA in 2008 cuz other than a few local gigs that was pretty much it for us! However, if we ever do make it over to the UK, Chuck and I would love to meet you and open for Steve again like we did in 2011. I always loved Peni and it's a shame that I never saw them., weird or not. I'm a bit kooky myself but in the opposite way. Once I start singing I don't ever wanna stop. I'll even continue to sing after my set , packing up gear, and getting in the van....the last thing you'd probably hear as we turned the corner is me belting out "Memory" from Cats. :)

@markusa read the book The Primal Screamer, by Nick Blinko. It explains everything you need to know about them. Reading that book let me truly understand the thoughts and actions behind RP... Or at least what I interpret as the thoughts and feelings of RP...

Wowwow. Peni were THE punk band. The only band that could come close were in my few the Crucifix from USA, with an incredible album on the same label. But Blinko's aesthetic was unique. Utterly subversive - 'alice crucifies the paedophiles'.
@zoranoran5 жыл бұрын
I guess what you meant is ‘the crucifucks’, from USA
@JaeMonroeVocalist4 жыл бұрын
@@zoranoran Ok I'm confused. Crucifix were from S.F. and on Crass records. They released their Lp in late 1983. They were an awesome ear blazing attack on all kinds of issues. Sothira, vocals, impressed even the skins in NYC when they came to play in Dec 1983 on a bill with Agnostic Front at CBGB. They also headlined the (A) Fest on New Years Eve supported by 2 great Canadian bands. I also know of The Crucifucks. Never saw them but loved their recording. They were much more comical of a band. One song the singer screams over & over that "THERE'S A CLEAN TOWEL IN THE CLOSET!" They also were around in about 1984/5.

Think this was a dark period for blinko, don’t write them off as a live band as I have loads of live tapes which are excellent, but they are all 10 years before this…think they out of practice and blinko maybe not in best frame of mind to be there. Very bloated from anti depressants. Then after this they recorded pope John Paul, says it all!!! They got it back tho….there is still time for another reunion if they could get it together…some of their newer material beats the 80s work
