The Japanese plane that participated in World War II is the Mitsubishi A6M Zero, also known as the "Zeke" by Allied intelligence². They were designed by the famous aircraft designer Jiro Horikoshi. The aircraft was exceptionally fast and agile, allowing Japanese pilots to outperform older Allied aircraft, and had a long range suitable for the Pacific theater of operations².🇮🇶🌹🙏🇯🇵

I've always felt the 262 was the ugly duckling of WW2 fighters,but I've very much warmed to it now.🤷♂️🇬🇧

Thank you for sharing the video. I assume this A6M is the one manufactured by Blayd Corporation, Carman Manitoba, Canada, from original Mitsubishi blueprints. The airplane got a Canadian airworthiness certificate but I was wondering about its maneuverability. Now I am glad to see it is capable to do some aerobatics.

+ Bob Kohl Not this one, it is a new build Me-262. Paul Allen's Me-262 did not complete ground testing or flight testing and the project was put on hold after this death.

The original power source was a jumo 004b and was good for 20 hours before over hauling at 30 to 50 hours. Doesn't sound all that durable.
@FiveCentsPlease2 жыл бұрын
+ John Johnon This is a new-build Me-262 with GE turbines. Paul Allen's original Me-262 has rebuilt and improved Jumo's. The turbine contractor estimates that the improved Jumo turbines will be good for 300 hours, but Allen's Me-262 is not flying at this time.

1:26 kinda scary to see the actual speed disparty between the B17 and Me262, Yes I know it's probably not the actual cruising speed of B17 or engagement speed of a 262 but still no wonder why tail/waist gunners are stunned when they see it for the first time.

Ah, the clean lines, the famed maneuverability, the endlessly fantastic A6M itself!! One thing I did notice though is that this A6M was indeed painted with basic IJN camouflage, but with really no paint scheme on the rear fuselage and tail denoting what carrier it actually was flying off of. Was that just something the caretakers meant to not do??

Me-262 . Name in German is : "Schwalbe" .... My Grandpa has fly this Machine ..... the maschine was delivered to his sqadron whitout color , naked .... they had ammunition for one flight and must destroy this beautyful fighter after the landing ! They had no fuel on the ground and no technical support of them ..... what can you make with the best fighter every day when you have no support and fuel ?? ... nothing , 6 month earlier and the winner was another ;-) ..... thank you grandpa , i live You !
