Extremely helpful video. The installation instructions completely skip removing the vent/electrical part, so I did it the hard way by taking everything apart. Wished I would of watched this prior to installing the fan. Very well done!

4:02 I already get over 14 to 16 years from a factory fitted standard battery, so cost-wise, how is this battery a better deal?

Made in China, no thanks. And with such low labor costs, that battery should cost less than a regular battery.

This video left out the most important piece...how in TF did you get it in the hole???? I purchased the EXACT same unit which every component is pinch welded onto the housing.....unless his had removable electrical box and 6" duct there is absolutely no way to install it through the hole he cut out

None of these include a tethered quick disconnect - if promoting for marine use - many want to use for trolling motor on kayak canoe etc - it would be simple & easy to add a tethered quick disconnect.

Thanks for the video. Apparently, this particular model, and any of the Panasonic models you see at Home Depot, is packaged for Home Depot specifically based on the model number. Looks like Panasonic made the model numbers specific for a retailer like Home Depot or Lowes or Amazon. I guess they made it like buying a Sealy mattress where you're trying to compare oranges to oranges but the retailers will have a different model number and you can't really compare because they're different only because they are "different models" yet they're basically the same. And by doing this, you cannot get price matching and price beat by the big box office retail stores from Home Depot and Lowes.

You connected your Yeti 1000 directly to your alternator... could I charge my Yeti 3000 from an alternator that is attached to a bike and not a car? I COMPLETELY understand that this is not super efficient and that I will only produce a few hundred watts per hour (it's not hard to maintain about 200 watts for an hour), I am more interested in charging my Yeti 3000 as a way to inspire me to burn more calories on my bike than I am in actually charging the Yeti in any significant way. If I know that my watts on the bike were being saved in any way, it would inspire me to produce more watts and therefore ride the bike more. So again my question: do you think I could attach the Yeti Link to an alternator that is powered by a bike and still charge a Yeti 3000? Thanks!!

Say I have this set up. I’m using it to power a 12v fridge. And I want to charge the battery. I have a gas powered generator. Can I keep the fridge connected to the battery box while charging it with say a 20a smart charger?

The best solution would be to leave the oem in place and put the new one with it.

Thanks for tutorial. I’m trying to remove the yeti link from my 3000x to check the wires. Having trouble removing it. How do you do that, please? Removed screws, unplugged from rear. Does it lift out?

Don’t have 3000x. The one I have is simply take the screws off, lift it, unplug the connection and that is it.

Very informative & enough to convince me to build my own. I will be using a DC flooded Marine battery, like for trolling motors/winches. 675 CCA / 840 MCA / 210 RC (amp Hours) I also like the idea of using solar to re-charge

This is like complaining the slicks you put on your drag car don’t perform well in the rain. All the skids mentioned are for off-roading and provide much more protection than the factory one for their intended purpose due to the thicker gauge material. I’ve jacked my 4Runner off my RCI skids with no problem. Try that with your factory one. In addition to off-roading I’ve also put thousands of Highway miles on roads with plenty of rocks (ask my windshield how I know) and there just isn’t an issue with rocks hitting the gas tank.

It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it works very well. kzbin.infoUgkxGjG43--gYqIoT4Xkur2PqCrtbKwTv2h There are three options to circulate air, and best of all a remote control for us lazy people. Installation was a breeze (no pun intended). It actually took longer to open the box then it did putting the side extenders on and sitting it in the window opening. It's a perfect alternative when you want airflow, but not the AC. Just might order another one for a different room. UPDATE: Bought another one like I said. They work great. Why not have two...
