I think you should not worry about your hair when going to a hair salon. You should show them how your hair naturally looks when it’s in need of attention. Oh, by the way, what kind of mascara are you using? Looks like so much better than mine. I like your vibe, just fyi :). You are like a breath of fresh air. I found your channel after watching a video from Caroline Winkler where your living space was featured. I like your energy and the idea of “dating myself”, so I am subscribing. And thanks for the tip about how to properly pronounce Bjork! I never knew (I’m American :).

Sewing is magic! I love everything you made and also loved the music you used for the video! I love making my own clothes but I am soo slooow at sewing 😂! I am currently shortening a long skirt I’ve made, but instead of turning up the hem I am adding tucks/ pleats horizontally 1/3 and 2/3 of the way up the skirt. I am hoping to try more fabric manipulation this year.!

It is magic indeed! Thank you so much! That sounds fun, I love pleats 😍💘❤️

This is so inspiring! Between Leena Norms and you, I'm finally convinced to start sewing my own clothes☺. Until now, I've only dared to alter or repair things. Do you have any recommendations for where to buy fabric in Copenhagen?
@AlejandraCerda10 күн бұрын
That makes me super happy! I believe in you! I buy most fabrics in thrift stores or deadstock online but SelfMade on Vesterbrogade is a big one and then you also have ITA textiles. 💘🧵🪡

I'm finally taking sewing classes here in Porto! I'm using an old vintage Singer sewing machine I found in the flea market, from the 70's, and I cannot wait to be able to do big pieces! Also, wow! I knew it was difficult, but so many things to consider and I really have to train my patience! =D taking for inspiring me to do that <3

I understand that you are very vulnerable and take criticism closely. Therefore, let this be MY lesson leant - do not sew things too short. Dresses in 60s style are beautiful, but in fact impractical. You will notice how rarely you wear them because you are afraid that your ass will shine more than your eyes.
@AlejandraCerda11 күн бұрын
Haha, I love wearing short dresses and skirts and I don't mind showing my booty - however I usually wear shorts underneath. Or tights! I think both eyes and butts are allowed to shine. :)
@noideahowtonameit11 күн бұрын
@ maybe its a question of self-confidence ☺️I need to try..you know “fake it,till you make it”can work 🤭

Aw, if you want to wear shorter skirts or dresses definitely do that. But it's also 100% OK to not want to. :) <3

Also, not everyone has to go to the gym. It works for some and for others working out at a park, in nature, or at home is sufficient. Currently, I work out at home to KZbin videos and it is fine. I could change my mind later but I’m happy saving money, getting to look however without consideration of others, saving transit time, and avoiding creepy men. Everyone should do what they like but please don’t avoid exercise just because of gym anxiety or feeling like that’s the only way to workout.
@AlejandraCerdaАй бұрын
That's a great way to exercise as well!
@ylvalundgren7317Ай бұрын
This video!! Woah! ❤ I relate so much to these things. Sometimes I only dare use that one simple machine in the corner. Sometimes even the treadmill is scary because my footsteps make a lot of noise so all I do is use the gym toilet and leave. Other times (rarely) I'm out there among the free lifters thinking I can do anything.. geez 😂 Thank youuuu for sharing Alejandra! (couldn't stop gushing over your hair this entire video... and those cheeks and lips and omg you are glowing!!!) Hellooooo🤤
@AlejandraCerdaАй бұрын
Yay, go you!! It can for sure differ from day to day. However, I do think that footsteps are allowed to make sounds, and that you are allowed to take up that space. :) <3 Opa, thank you! My hair was wet and I still don't own a hairdryer lol! Thank you so much!!!!

I'm now 61 years old and had my first severe depression in my mid-40s. After years of taking SSRIs (and therapy), I've learned that physical exercise (in my case, especially running and cycling) is the best way to keep myself mentally to keep stable. I'm currently no longer taking any medication, I'm exercising outside in the fresh air every day and will now start with strength training. Of course, each of us has to find our own way, but sport is incredibly beneficial for mental health.
@AlejandraCerdaАй бұрын
Thank you for sharing! You are absolutely right - exercising is an amazing antidepressant and often works better than SSRI, which unfortunately, is prescribed way too often (at least here in Scandinavia). Very happy to hear you feel better!

Thank you for the book recommendation, I may gift it to myself as well as a few people I know 🙃. I agree with you that everyone is creative, but some don’t realise it of have the opportunity to express it - a societal problem as you mentioned that can lead to those feelings of dissatisfaction etc. I adore typography too, I used my swirliest handwriting today to write holidays to our 4 closest neighbours (we recently moved here). I am hoping to make them cookies too to start friendships or at least friendly neighbourliness! Have a wonderful season 😊

that was really interesting. thank you for that. "I'm too political for this world" God yes, I think that so often. Then I feel somehow wrong. I don't like or accept so many things that others obviously think are normal or fun. It's been like this my whole life and I'm already 61. I also noticed that I have always been “dating” myself and really enjoy it, but I just had no idea it call‘s self dating.😅 I've always liked doing something just for myself. Kind regards from Bonn

My wife and I are honest about when one of us looks ridiculous. I'll look at her and say "you look stupid." And then we crack up laughing because she knows it's true. She does the same to me. We aren't offended by the word "stupid" as we both use it to be playful and honest about how we're dressed.

I'd be curious to know what you think of the Buy Now documentary on Netflix. You mentioned previously how companies greenwash and actually burn products meant to be recycled.
@AlejandraCerda2 ай бұрын
I haven't seen it! I'd have to watch it and get back to you. Yes, H&M has a hand-clothes-in-for-recycling-and-get-a-discount giving the impression they make new clothes from the fabrics collected, which wasn't the case (most of it was burnt).
@mll12082 ай бұрын
@@AlejandraCerda That's exactly what the documentary is about, and they also address food packaging, online shopping, and electronics. I have seen lots of those documentaries, but I thought this one was quite cleverly filmed as it uses cringey AI voices and imaging to create a parallel narrative between the "buy-now" culture and the testimonies of people who used to work for those mainstream unethical companies, or people who track waste across the world, promote repairing over buying new, etc. Very clever!
