Elon Musk represents a crazy oligarch in movies with his rogue ideas. He bought twitter to help Trump come to power. Now when he is in power the other famous tech billionaire has surrendered without a fight. Social media is soon going to be a tool for hateful propaganda that will start wars,riots,genocide and support authoritarian governments all over the world. Next is Europe where Musk has openly supported far-right parties like AfD in Germany and Nigel Farage in Britain etc. This is the beginning of end of social media. The real golden age of irrationality is going to begin now. It will be global this time. I know I sound menacingly pessimistic but I hope I am wrong.

@Vimoh : Being a former SWE at Meta im deeply shocked to see these changes coming in. I have been a part of Avatars Rendering team and at my time I knew projects like crypto, Virtual Realty(virtual property/houses buy sell etc) being worked on. I clearly didnt hold back when PMs were going crazy with such weird ideas. Now it pains me to see the efforts they made on Privacy, Content Moderation and other social causes might even be downscaled to support such weird ideas just because he wants to be on Trump's lap. Vimoh, you just resonated exactly what I think about AI. It will get difficult for people to fact check, verify claims with generative AI coming into the scene. Most people who lack technical knowledge might get scammed. But there will be a time when AI will just give you a quick but inaccurate answer...as it is trained on the data scraped from the internet...made by humans. Having worked in Big Tech, I can say most tech people overestimate AI and think its some sort of magic. Most people on internet are using AI as a buzzword to gain views or sell their product, even Tech Giants are also doing the same, AI infused in your product can get you the early advantage and customer base for evolved products. AI will boost productivity, help in automating mundane work, sure will lead to some redundant roles and create new opportunities as well.

I think there definately needs to be awareness about the ambiguity of online personas. Verification tools become very important in an advancing AI ecosystem. At some point, there needs to be mandated mass-communication about such things, like we have ads about cigarettes, and scam callers who leverage people's emotional distress to siphon money from their accounts. There will be problems, but I believe we can deal with it. Also, speaking of scam callers, 4:20 I know it's not cool to make fun of people's accents, but it's okay to punch up, especially at large-scale liars, so I'll allow myself say this: The charlatan you speak of sounds exactly like one of those desi call-center scam artists, who try to sound like American customer-care servicers, being exposed in those counter-hack videos.
