Twitter making tweets monetizable just accelerated the problem. It incentivized making of bots that do nothing but ragebait to farm engagements and benefit from them. Funny how the checkmark became a paid subscription to combat bots but instead ended up being the complete opposite

Just wondering,isn't it loss for the company like twitter if no real person would be using the app instead bots? So may be in future, apps wouldn't allow users to use bots by having detectors 🤔

That's one possibility and I did mention that in the episode. But slowly social media seems to be moving towards a future where we no longer decide what happens on our screens. Like the TV age. We will still look at screens, and be exposed to ads.
