I wouldnt hold your breath for a solid state battery. Many manufacturers and battery companies are talking it up but there are NONE that are ready to be manufactured in sufficient quantity. The Rimaz has SS batteries but it cost millions!!!

Dont know where you get your figures from but BYDs debt as of September 2024 under US$58B and over the last 5 years their total debt is decreasing. Sounds pretty good to me. Cash flow per share was +US$4.87 as well

@ yes mate really going to miss the Atto hopefully shark will be just as good tech and drive wise, my wife wont sell her leaf so in the interest of culling the fleet shark it is, hopefully in a couple of years can roll it into a full BEV shark😁👍

Agreed but the politicians will procrastinate, have meetings, develop strategies etc etc all so they look like they are doing something whilst keeping their fossil fuel mates happy

BYD customer service is still abysmal and I say this after over 2 years of ownership. I remain unable to get a physical (paper) record of my Atto via a Service Log Book. Otherwise I can only say I would buy another BYD in a heartbeat as their build quality is great. Just make sure you turn off the settings that go off to regularly on a normal drive.

I agree that customer service could be improved. So could Teslas!

I have a good dealer experience and 30000km on my Atto 3 and would back BYDs build quality and technology against any legacy auto brand. I’ve also ordered a shark and Looking forward to a mobile 30 kWh generator in cyclone season. 😁👍

@@grumpyoldmanandhisev I had a great experience with tesla in brisbane (pinkemba). had a creak in my seat, they replaced the whole module and gave me a a loaner for a few hours... i will get a shark too :)

They have increased the size of the on board battery over the years but it still not enough. Even the BYD Shark has a supposed 100km electric range that is closer to 70-75km real world and that has the furthest range

They should cease ALL fossil fuel company subsidies (saving $14 BILLION AUD each year then put on a road user charge for ALL cars not just EVs. We need an even playing field here

Check with the leasing company but I believe you can opt not to continue and the leasing company takes the car back to do with as they please

Its slightly more than the top of the range EV9 which I would buy in preference to this one (if I had the $ obviously)

Kia make good cars. If the EV3 is right for you then buy it but I always suggest you have a look at a few and take them all for a test drive if you can

Yes a dilemma. Think about the times your car isnt there. Do you work for instance. Probably a standard 13.5lWh battery will be sufficient in that case. If you are retired and home a lot - like me - then maybe a smaller one. Me personally Im going as big as I can afford in my next house (yes the Sigenergy one seems appealing)

I think fair few people will do this. The VPP incentives need to be good enough to convince people to stay grid connected. Most of them are pretty terrible at the moment

Just found out that during the V2G trials some people were earning up to $300 per DAY. All of a sudden it becomes a viable porposition

In sweden you can actually have to pay the grid if you provide power when its not needed, since it upsets the frequency of the net, making it instable.
