Personally, I wouldn't connect to the grid, just VTH. The payback for exporting to the grid would be pitiful. So just use the cars LFP battery in the main and also have a smaller battery connected to the house for when the car is not there. The new Geely Aegis short blade batteries have an energy density of 192Wh/Kg - not bad.

Its possible to get an excellent feed in tariff which might surprise you

I think fair few people will do this. The VPP incentives need to be good enough to convince people to stay grid connected. Most of them are pretty terrible at the moment

Just found out that during the V2G trials some people were earning up to $300 per DAY. All of a sudden it becomes a viable porposition

In sweden you can actually have to pay the grid if you provide power when its not needed, since it upsets the frequency of the net, making it instable.

@@AndrewTSq Something similar here in Australia with power companies wanting control over your home inverter to stop spare solar power being sent to the grid

Im looking at the sigenergy bi directional charger for home battery and possible ev if I head down that road. Worse part is not knowing how big a home Battery to buy if say a xpeng or model y can do a v2x

Yes a dilemma. Think about the times your car isnt there. Do you work for instance. Probably a standard 13.5lWh battery will be sufficient in that case. If you are retired and home a lot - like me - then maybe a smaller one. Me personally Im going as big as I can afford in my next house (yes the Sigenergy one seems appealing)

I’m assuming my 2022 model 3 standard range (lfp battery) is not capable of VTG or VTH?
