@@KitanoFishing thank you very much the thing is I am from Greece and we have very similar fish. Also I'm thinking to come October 2025 I heard is a very good season to visit Japan because I cannot visit in the summer
@KitanoFishing3 күн бұрын
It's a great season for fishing and traveling here, with comfortable weather. Since you mentioned the fish in Greece are similar, you might enjoy fishing in coastal areas. If you're going fishing, the western part of Japan might be a good choice.

Amazing catch! That fish gave a hard fight. I have a few questions if you don't mind. What is the advantages of having the hooks places on the side of the lure? And does aging the fish improve the flavor? Is this for raw preparations only?
@KitanoFishing20 күн бұрын
Thank you for your questions! I'm happy to explain: For fish like yellowtail, they often attack prey headfirst. Attaching hooks to the side of the lure increases the chances of hooking them successfully. Aging the fish makes the meat more tender and enhances its umami flavor. This is not only for raw dishes; even when cooked, the flavor improves due to the aging process. That said, aging reduces freshness, so some people prefer eating fish while it's still very fresh. It really depends on personal preference.
@rr-sp5ii19 күн бұрын
@KitanoFishing thank you very much for the information. I will try attaching hooks on the side as I often miss fish predator fish that hit my lure but don't become hooked.

Hello. Thank you for such a nice video. I recently came to Japan and still don’t know much about this place. I am living here in Tokyo. Can suggest me a few places near Tokyo where I should go for fishing? And what kind of gears should I buy for surf fishing? I am new and would really appreciate your guidance
@KitanoFishingАй бұрын
Hello! Thank you for watching the video. I’m not too familiar with fishing spots around Tokyo, but I’ve been wanting to try surf fishing in the Kashima area in Ibaraki Prefecture. As for gear, recently, there are specialized surf rods available at tackle shops, so choosing one of those could be a good start. Personally, I use a seabass rod as a substitute. For reels, I recommend a mid-range one like Shimano Ultegra 4000XG or Daiwa Freams LT4000-CXH. Hope this helps, and happy fishing in Japan!
