I prefer always the raimi films for their heightened, stylish look. They didn't really need to look "real" because it just was not their style and tones, and allowed them to make creative camera movements such as the camera going out of the reflection in doc ock's glasses.

The REAL reason disney didnt have as much web swinging is because its time consuming and they knew they could get away with it.

It's funny, the looser suit is a detractor from TASM for me. I really appreciated the more tight, aerodynamic suits of the MCU and Raimi.

Hey in the late “70s that live action spider-man show was awesome. Granted I was about 7 but I checked the TV Gide every week hoping it was showing.

Spider-Man is not a normal man. Unlike the moron thst you showed crashing into the air conditioning unit. Spider-Man has superhuman strength, he's also fictional.

YES! There’s actually a lot that I have issues with when it comes to MCU’s Spider-Man, but the biggest parts are the suit design, how tight and smooth it is, how it looks worse than video game or fan creations I’ve seen, how the swinging again looks just so bad. If it had the same look and feel as the previous ones, I’d have a lot less critiques of MCU’s try at it, but I just really can’t get over how fake and awful it looks and feels.

I really love the comments here about ASM2 🥹 It is just feels good that my boi Andrew got the appreciation that he deserves. ❤ I really feel bad back then about him lot of fans saying that he’s the worst spidey when the movie just came out.

For me the best looking Spider-man suit will always be the Maguire suit, it was just literally created to be a movie suit, but the best action coordinated and movement suit will be Garfield's, its really a shame that Tom Holland didn't stand out more, and that for most of the MCU he was just a sidekick character, because that's also the reason why he was my least liked Spider-Man, and I usually called him Spider-kid when discussing him, because I felt that he hadn't earned the name yet, and with the way he would fan boy over every other superhero, just made him lose even more points because he just reminded me of Deku from MHA, and I understand that they made him like that because he was a kid starting out, but the Spider-Men I grew alongside with were also teenagers, and even though he did a lot of growing up in the comics and stuff, he was still his own hero no matter how inexperienced he was, and the quips are also something that any Spider-Man cannot do without, which is why I was so hard on Tom Holland's portrayal, but I am happy to say that he did earn the Spider-Man title in the No way home movie.

I think the summary at the end skips past the best part of Spider-Man 2 which is that it was pre-storyboarded and there were choices made based on what served the story most and what was feasible within each of the three realms. Feels like a lot of MCU stuff is just digital without thinking through what they could do practically and the benefits of that (better connection from the actors to their performance, and better lighting/movement references for the CGI artist for on-screen suit representation). Very interesting video though... Thank you!!

@1:30 I really enjoy Jacques Tati’s Playtime but listing it as a kind of “entry level” old movie and describing it as “attention-grabbing, thrilling, dramatic” is wild. It’s the opposite of those things - a comedy that’s set up to seem like nothings happening at all even while it’s constantly sneaking in hundreds of subtle jokes that you’ll easily miss if you aren’t paying 100% attention I encourage people to watch PlayTime, but you should probably start with some popular Hitchcock, Billy Wilder, or musicals if you’re going for the 50s - 60s era. (And start with classic 70s-90s movies before that)

****** 0:24: "But in the movies, a man has been swinging for over 40 years." ****** The first SM movie came out in 2022. That's 22 years, not "over 40". And in the comics, he's been swinging for 62 years. Since the live-action SM TV shows debuted 47 years ago, I'm guessing you meant that. But that's not "in the movies." It would'be been accurate to say, "On screen...."

"Risk losing a few stuntmen instead." Uh... I mean, I get the sentiment, and even stuntmen would probably agree since they don't want to lose their jobs to CG. However that was phrased rather poorly.
