Yeah, this is a weird ranking system. Talks about being faithful to the comics and proceeds to rank Japanese Spiderman as number 1 (I'm not hating on the show but that has got to be the most unfaithful to the source material though they did intend it that way). And wait, Japanese Spiderman isn't even a movie, it's a TV show-he just picked an episode of that. I don't know if that counts. And by the way, it's not about making fantasy movies "realistic", it's about making them as honest as possible (verisimilitude as what Richard Donner called it). Believing in the approach, the world being built, and the rules that go along with it. I can't believe Blade ranked lower than the Reb Brown Captain America movies. To each his own, I guess.

The Spider-Man "films" were episode compilationsshown in movie theaters overseas (along with The Incredible Hulk). According to Reb Brown, CBS picked up Captain America for a six episode season. It was to crossover with both Spider-Man and Hulk shows somehow. CBS decided to cancel all of the superhero shows (except for the Hulk). Even thecSpidey and Hulk shows were supposed to crossover while both shows were on (another opportunity came up later but fell through thanks to Universal Studios coqk blocking because they weren't allowed the level of control that they wanted). It is saud tgat we would've seen a version of the black and white costume.

Blade 1998; is more competently made and has more cinematic prowess. Than any other movie on this list. It is the only movie here that is watchable in the sense. That it isn’t made by incompetent morons, or isn’t cheaply produced.

The Spider-Man films are actually reedited versions of episodes from the 77 series on CBS. Also, a pair of two part episodes for the Incredible Hulk were likewise reedited into films released overseas. The 2 parter "Married" was a #1 film in Europe.

Can't help thinking the fact that superhero movies today tend to be "generic/boring/cluttered" at worst and rarely "so bad they're good" is a loss tbh.

I loved blade and the second one, too. I can't believe that was one of these you didn't like.
