It's insane to pick a pelican for your basketball team, and then go out of your way to make it look "badass" as possible. Just pick a badass animal in the first place if that's what you want!

When you have big muscular deltoids (like myself and lebron), sleeves really mess up your shot because they catch on the deltoids when your arms go up and there is this sudden and inconsistent friction. Not ideal for a motion that calls for fluidity.

Whilst I actually liked these, they must've been horribly detrimental to the players' mobility... When playing basketball scrimmages with friends I've always found sleeved jerseys to be too restraining to the arm's rotation and I always imagined it to be something similar to why my former professional trainers in semi-pro baseball scrutinized the tightness of our sleeves so strictly and urged that it could cause injuries.

i like the concept of a sleeved jersey, i just thought the execution was garbage. mainly the terrible v neck trend that in 2015 was already well on it's way out, yet every sleeved jersey insisted on them. also the awkward form fitting feminine look (which was also, along with skinny jeans, on the way out), the strange fabrics, the contrived trims/patterns/detailing, it was all just a mess. like the old boomer trying too hard to be hip and fashionable but missing the mark, rather than leaning into the campy "sports" look that makes jerseys cool.

The Thunder are crying out for a rebrand. They've had the same logo since what, 2009? Everything is good about the team right now except for the logo.

I'm not a fan of the stale/simplified aesthetics in the NBA today but I also don't want it to go back to how it was in the 90's...except for the Magic 🔥 . Some of those mid-90's looks (Rockets, Raptors, etc.) shit was a train wreck and got old quick. People look back at it now with nostalgia blinders on. We all hated most of those looks by the early 00's. Just give me a nice balance between the mid-90's and current designs.

The sleeved shirts weren’t so people felt more comfortable wearing jerseys at games, it’s because there’s far fewer occasions where you can casually wear a vest than you can a T-shirt. The idea was that if you increased how versatile the jersey was, the opportunity to wear it increases so you’re more likely to purchase one rather than saying “When am I gonna wear this? I’m 32 and I don’t go to games.”
@stsk711 сағат бұрын
wow this channel actually some great content! I'd also argue that the more toxic elements of our black culture has made basketball about disrespecting your opponent and showing your personal greatness instead of teamwork and chemistry

I really liked the Christmas day jersey with the silver logos (I actually have the DRose jersey from that year). I liked the Chinese New Year jerseys GSW and Houston did during this era as well

Complaints about excessive 3-pointers make no sense. More players put up 3s now than before because more players can make those 3s now than before. How that's a bad thing is simply light years beyond me, it makes no sense to seethe over players building advantageous skillsets. I think the only real thing wrong with current gen NBA is the favoritism towards the offense. It's too easy to draw fouls, so defenses have to lay off, which keeps the game played on the outside. Allow more scrappy defense on the perimeter and you'll see more players playing the interior game. I grew up watching and playing the more aggressive style of basketball (I played on a D1 AAU team from Potomac Valley, shit was basically hockey), and every single complaint people have about the current generation being too soft and hands off was mirrored back then - meaning people complained that it was too violent, too aggressive, and too heavily rewarded physical stats over skill.

I assume he was told he would get a free second year player because the Lakers needed to make space. So he agreed, no questions asked. The Jazz did not have to get rid of anyone right? Maybe Ainge already showed interest in JHS so they did him a solid.
