@TheJourneyYoutubeАй бұрын
You could be talking about lugging the motor. If you are, then no FP3 won't help with this. You just need to run a slightly higher RPM and it will smooth out. Personally, I love the sound of running the bike at a very low RPM but I can't for the same reason.

this is sound stupid but do I have to get it tuned if I was to get this exhaust?
@TheJourneyYoutubeАй бұрын
It depends on who you ask but the general rule of thumb that I've heard is if you only do a slip on exhaust, you don't need to tune it but if you do an air intake or a full exhaust, you should also do a tuner. People have different opinions that maybe you need a tuner even for slip ons and other people say that you can get away with installing a full exhaust and no tuner as long as you don't do an air cleaner... The safest thing is to get a tuner no matter what. Doing the exhaust, an air cleaner and tuner is the only way to see much of a performance gain anyways. Good luck.

I do not recommend this. On later engines, including evos, the correct idle is around 1,000rpm. Book may vary a little away from that. Oil pressure may be a consideration, but another is crankshaft speed. The slower the idle speed, the more the rotational speed varies, with the crank slowing as it reaches each compression cycle, then accelerating after each. Not good for bearings etc! So keep idle where it belongs! Shovels and old school pans can cope with a slower idle speed because they have heavier flywheels, to keep things smoooooth.

What do you recommend 12 inch or 14 inches handlebar, I also have iron883. Need your suggestions which one will be comfortable?
@TheJourneyYoutube3 ай бұрын
It's just like buying the right size shoe... The right height bar has to do with how tall you are, how long your arms are etc. plus you'll have an aesthetic preference too. Look up one of my videos about measuring for bar height. The general rule of thumb is to keep your arms below your heart. A lot of laws actually make it illegal to have bars that have your hands higher than parallel. Good luck.
@mohammedaasim35713 ай бұрын
@@TheJourneyKZbin thank you for your advice, I am a tall guy. I am 166cm so 12 inches would be good enough I believe. I ordered for 10 inches but that looks really short and because of my back is not straight with the standard bar which comes with iron883. I guess I ll be good to get 12 inches handlebar
@TheJourneyYoutube3 ай бұрын
The other thing to consider is that there is no standard for how manufacturers measure their bars. For instance, I believe the Harley Chiseled bars are advertised as 10" but measure more like an 8" from other companies. I'm only 5'9" and my 12" bars are pretty much at the legal (and comfort) limit for me. You can always get a thinner seat which will make the bars feel higher too.
@mohammedaasim35713 ай бұрын
So sorry I meant I am not that tall, I am 5’7. In this case if you are happy and comfortable with 12 inches handlebar then I will order that. 14 inches for my height would be too big

What oil did you use for your clutch? Been reading online and some say just your normal engine oil and some say 75w90.

Honestly I bought the Harley Davidson Genuine+ Transmission and Primary lube and I just looked... wouldn't you know it, they don't put the weight/ spec on the bottle. It doesn't seem as thick as 90wt but doesn't smell like regular oil either. I've used ATF for some other bikes, but this also doesn't smell like ATF. Sorry I could be more helpful.

The height is good for me. It isn't tiring at all for me. I have a quick video about measuring for proper handlebar height. It isn't perfect but it might be helpful for you. What I wanna know is what gears are you using the whole time . Like what gear to use when you do turns or stops or anything really would help me out .
@TheJourneyYoutube9 ай бұрын
Almost everything in the video should be in first gear with the exception of things like the quick turn etc. Which I just had in second. I wouldn't be too hung up on gear selection since you'll get a feel for when you need to go faster and the bike will be revving too high. Then you just grab the next gear. Good luck.
@weatherwatchTX6 ай бұрын
During one of our drills, we had to go into 2nd gear for a certain portion of it. Our instructors were very clear about when we should be in second and for how much of that drill. Otherwise everything else was all pretty much just putting around in 1st gear. If you haven't taken the course yet, don't stress at all. We had 3 our of 8 people in our class that had never been on a bike before. They all passed.

@TheJourneyYoutube9 ай бұрын
Honestly the 883 doesn't need a much larger intake unless you build the motor to a 1200 or larger. You don't gain THAT much from a stage 1. My general recommendation is the arless ness big sucker because it's a brand name air intake with a rechargeable filter and it's pretty cheap. You can get pretty much any air cleaner but most cost more.

Come to think of it, I don't think that I have... I think that I was in a rush the first time I used it, packed it away, thought of it from time to time and then honestly forgot. Having said that, I've been through several rain storms and it's never leaked a drop?! So my guess is that they either seam seal from the factory or it isn't required with this tarp... I don't know that definitively though.

Our instructor allowed questions, even during the test and I think everyone passed in my class. Hopefully yours would do the same. Basically, they explained that the class was designed to teach people how to be safe, not to sort out those who can pass a test. So, you had to pass but they did everything to help you pass. It could be the help that saves your life instead of getting a question wrong and never knowing the right answer! Good luck.

If you are on the stand, you will lose some fluid once you remove the primary cover and will need to add some again to get it to the proper level. If you don't lose any, you were probably running too low.
