I went for the button lock only damascus with carbon fiber scales as a lighter sort of gentleman's pocket knife. I gotta say im not disappointed it takes up less space and is lighter in my pocket compared to my Spyderco pm2.

I have a Civivi Elementum in S35VN steel. The blade is thinner than the D2 blade. Far as its sharpness, although it will cut and slice, it is not smooth and effortless cutting and slicing knife. I used mine for not just EDC tasks like letter opening, package opening, cutting up boxes, and opening chip bags but I also carried it for work when I was helping my neighbor deliver bananas to stores. I would use it to cut banana stems all day long. It did the job and made clean cuts but it was not effortless and it was not always smooth. I made a video... i will link in the comment.

Nice I got a button lock only elementum with the damascus blade and shredded carbon fiber handles as sort of a lighter "gentleman's" pocket knife. I edc a Spyderco pm2 but it gets too bulky/heavy in my pocket sometimes.

Keep your blade oiled as D2 is prone to rusting and corrosion

Thanks. I do know that D2 is prone to rust, but I've never had any signs of it. Since this video, I acid etched the blade, which adds some minor rust protection. I made a video about it if you're interested.

D2 steel is a con? the times we live in... a few years ago D2 was considered a super steel xDDD

I agree that it's a basic design. That's also what I've come to appreciate about it. For the money, they make a basic knife that is well executed. It fits its namesake. But if that's not for you, that's cool too. Thanks for watching!

@@TheJourneyKZbin ye it's personal preference. I like a bit more sharper/angular edges, no pun, in the design :)
