Thank you SO much for this tutorial! You are very appreciated. You and Noseman are my favorite and ultimate instructors. I do mostly organic modeling with Volume Builder and your explanation of Fields within is superb and clarified a ton of things for me. Your tutorial is really magical and that is exactly how I feel about the capabilities of Volume Builder and Fields. I really hang on your every word in these superb learning experiences and I would so love to have more of these from you on this topic! It is an almost overwhelming topic but SO magical. Your soft spoken and easy pace style is exactly the way I learn best. I have always been a fan of formulas in C4D and your tutorials on that topic are wonderful. I am very much looking forward to more tutorials from you please on modeling organic shapes (like Endoplasmic Reticulum and such) because I really enjoy them!

Don... The fact that you mention me in the same sentence as Noseman is a great compliment. He is one of my favorites also. His knowledge of what is behind the geometry is unmatched. And his instruction style is the absolute best. Thank you so much for your interest and suggestions, I have several ideas for tutorials in the queue but have found it very difficult to find the time. Be assured that I have not yet given up.

Your scientific background and math / programming knowledge is SO powerful. A lot of people dont have this knowledge (like myself) and are simply artists. But combining the artistic with your powerful knowledge could create wonderful looking renders and visualisations of math. Please keep playing around with Cinema 4D and uploading Tutorials. I really enjoy it!

Thanks so much for a great eye-opening tutorial, I am using R23 and the Voxel IDs over Time, Spire, Monkey Saddle didn't show anything when I plugged them in. Is there something different about the newer version that changes how it relates to these formulas?
@pappystutorials

I don't think there were any significant changes with formulas or Volume Builder up to R25

Excellent tutorials. This one is no exception. Two questions: 1- I downloaded and installed your formulas lib4d file but I can't find it in Cinema 4D S26/R26 ... should it work? 2- Strange Attractors. Any tips or hints on how to create Strange Attractors like Lorenz? Thanks again.

Dear Pappy,thanks for your great tutorial. I have a question, for the function(eg:35:53),we know that in python, a^b will be write as pow(a,b) or a**b, but in C4D, this not work, I could only use pow(a;b), that makes different. I dont know whether other math symbol will have such trouble. I want to know,whether there is a doc for reference?Thanks.
@pappystutorials
@pappystutorials 3 жыл бұрын
pow(a,b) and a**b both work in C4D. Python version 3 is in C4D R23 and up, but before that Python version 2 was used. Python is a very documented language, you can fid anything you want by searching the internet. My main source for info is python.org and Maxon's documentation, check out www.python.org/doc/versions/ and developers.maxon.net/docs/Cinema4DPythonSDK/html/index.html

50:11 when I am connecting Python Xt to Formula X(t), the formula(spirograph) automatically hiding from the display panel. here is the code. global Xt, Yt, Zt # (B-S) *cos(S/B*t)+H*cos((1-S/B)*t) Xt = "("+str(B)+"-"+str(S)+")*cos("+str(S)+"/"+str(B)+"*t)+"+str(H)+"*cos((1-"+str(S)+"/"+str(B)+"*t)" # (B-S) *sin(S/B*t)+H*sin((1-S/B)*t) Yt = "("+str(B)+"-"+str(S)+")*sin("+str(S)+"/"+str(B)+"*t)+"+str(H)+"*sin((1-"+str(S)+"/"+str(B)+"*t)" # sin(t*Tm)*Zm Zt = "sin(t*"+str(Tm)+")*"+str(Zm)

It looks like you've got some code wrong: At the end of Xt = you have +"*t)" it should be +")*t)" At the end of Yt = you have +"*t)" it should be +")*t)"

To the right of each parameter are two small arrows. If you right mouse click over those arrows the parameter will reset to the default value. If the parameter is on the User Data tab then the right click will set it to zero.
