I will never forgive this game for having as many unskippable and unnecessary cutscenes as it did. Hard mode was pretty cool but not being able to retry a fight and just being kicked out to your last save point and STILL INCLUDING ALL UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES is pathetic. I still like this game because at least it still had good difficulty and it was funny and creative

Dream team was one of the first games I ever played. I think it is perfect and while it has flaws, everything else outweighs it tenfold

I definitely agree with you on pretty much everything! The pacing on this game was definitely bad, with the slow beginning and the quest to build the bed being the two biggest examples. Antasma was great, and yet could have been so much greater if he wasn't so underutilized! He needed more screen time to be sure! And Bowser betraying Antasma to be the true final baddie at the end was a bad choice. You said it perfectly in your video, just makes more generic Mario. Imagine how much cooler it would have been if Bowser tried to betray Antasma, but then Antasma overtook him! Either by force or by trapping him in a nightmare! Truly, Antasma's missed potential is a big fumble in the ending of this game. Though they still nailed his final fight and that was still an incredible note for him to go out on. But what I will never understand are the people who say this game lacks charm. This game has so many characters with lots of fun personalities. But more than that, it has so many different unique and interesting races! Typical mushroom kingdom races, but also Beanish people, Hoo hoo race, Block race, new pillo, and shelltop races. And tons of unique enemy races/types! With notable characters across Mario and Luigi like Popple, Kylie Koopa, Broque Monseiur/Madame, as well as new characters utilizing older races like the Massif bros. In an entirely unique kingdom with its own lore! And with an awesome original companion character in Dreambert, who actually contributes to the lore of the new world! It truly felt like a celebration of what makes Mario and Luigi stories amazing when they hit their stride. Obviously, the story itself struggled with its pacing, but it also exemplified what makes an amazing world for Mario and Luigi to explore. And that's not even mentioning how great Mario and Luigi's dynamic is in this game as siblings.

The reason why people dislike the fact that the Bros Items are buyable, is because, it make the game technically easier. You no longer have to both heal AND re-fuel your SP during battle. As long as you have enough coins/items, you'll be able to spam your way through. Not only that, but since there is no SP in this game, you can keep using the best items or the items your best at repeatedly. Unlike in the other games where, if your SP was lower, you'd have to choose between either wasting a turn to re-fuel or use another Bros Attack/Item that's either weaker or harder to perform Not only that, but you no longer have to worry about having to level up your SP stat, and instead, you could use your stat level ups on other stats, making you stronger.

I think this game is a great game but not a very good mario and luigi game they dont feel like they do all to much and starlow takes all the chances they get to be funny if it was just bowser and starlow it woulda worked far better but as is i prefer sss

its kind of insane how many people are aggressively defending dream team without stating or mentioning what makes it good. dream team is a solid 6~8/10: significantly worse than the original 3, while being significantly better than sticker star and paper jam (both 1/10s).

It took me 10 years to finally play the game AND I LOVED IT, but I do think it had a low point once you went to toad town I wanted more bowser I wanted to scare a toad.

I am currently doing my first playthrough of this game myself, and i gotta say, the game is really fucking fun, they way they made the characters, the battles, the story, everything. Even tho this game is hard af, you can even train your timings for attacks on weaker enemies if you want too, i love this game, even tho its a pretty dark and hard game, and i really hope others will too

Are we sure Super Paper Mario isn’t the darkest? We literally see entire worlds get wiped out. Sure they come back, but everything in this game is restored too. The Shroobs weren’t even completely eliminated, Bowser kept some in his basement.

Dream team was my first time playing a mario and luigi game. (I wanted bowsers inside story, because playing as bowser sounded appealing, but my parents couldn't tell the difference between specific titles and I didn't get to buy the remake, because the store shut down before I could save up enough money.)

It's indeed hard af, unless you are as stubborn as me and play the final Shroob Palace over and over until Mario and Luigi are level 90 something. Taking down the Shroob princesses with normal jumps will never be not funny.

I'm not listening to anyone who says Dream Team is bad. It's my favorite in the whole series.

Bowser was really fun to play as and the fire attack was easy to hit. You have to purposely mess up to fail it. Also bowser has more boss fights than you said you forgot Dark fawful Deep sea blooper statue There might be a couple more im forgetting

I played dream team years ago as my first Mario and Luigi game and back then all I really heard online was hate to the game. Now as I’m getting back into the series because of brothership I am seeing much more people praising dream team and that makes me happy because I absolutely love dream team.

Also my first mario game ever played, lots of Nostalgia for this, so good. Love it.

I can agree with a lot that’s said here. Especially with how Alphadream handled Bowser and Antasma. I never liked how Antasma was overshadowed by Bowser. Especially when he was betrayed in the end. It made Antasma look less significant and underdeveloped as a character. I also don’t like how Antasma died by becoming fat and then exploding. It’s such a stupid death animation. Especially since that wasn’t a copy of him. It’s even worse when he wasn’t included anywhere in the final battle. It would’ve been cool to have Mario and Luigi fight Antasma and Bowser at the same time.

as my first mario & luigi game, i...weirdly don't have much nostalgia for it. a few of the bgm do always pop in my head, but a lot of the soundtrack is very dreary - which, of course, makes a lot of sense. But, i still feel as though Yoko Shimomura heavily prioritized Kingdom Hearts II at the time. of the first 5 mario RPGs, its soundtrack might be the least memorable for me in more than a few respects. even the lack of touchscreen usage back then also weirded me out. i wonder how my perception of this series would differ had they advertised superstar saga more to my liking instead of showing like a few seconds of actual gameplay in a period where it was scarce for me to understand how to play videos on the internet before the likes of youtube
