Woah this is insane. Does the MC-707 have zen-core access too?

This is the best Zenology tutorial I’ve seen on KZbin. It’s endless. I’ve had it for awhile, and half of these things I didn’t know. Thank you.

One correction: Blofeld is 16 part multitimbral, but you have to approach that limit with caution because you only have 25 voices of polyphony to spread across all those parts.

Thank you for you video series, helps me a lot to understand the 101! Btw. Is it somehow possible to affect the dry/wet mix of the send reverb? It seems that always 100% of the dry signal is mixed in, no matter which reverb type and settings I use.

Is it true that you can't send pitchbend/modwheel messages to the mc-101 from an external controller? Roland AX7 or any other keyboard

why does the reverb start sounding even when no sounds are playing. fx that seem to sound even with playing nothing drive me nuts. sometimes even the sound played makes little difference you could blow static or sine wave into the fx and it will sound the same.
@aethervagrant2443 ай бұрын
curious about the lifespan of this. build quality feels cheap and using the encoder knob for everything feels like it could fail at any time. USB port is very loose and plugs do not insert all the way. its like if daewoo tried to copy a bmw .

are these all sounds from the 101 or do you also use samples?
@BenCoeMusic3 ай бұрын
Generally I have samples loaded that I use, but in this video I’m 99% sure everything is stock sounds from the 101. I think the drums are “brush kit” and everything else is preset tones.

Hi Ben, I just want to say that this tutorial is so clear and helpful (I have subscribed and will watch the other MC-101 material). I recently bought a MC-101 and was completely lost and wondering if I'd made a wrong decision, however your tutorial helped me to understand how to use it and by the end I was creating a tune! Thank you!

Hello Ben, thank you for your videos! Would you know if it is possible to layer two sounds from.the presets to one button for live live play. For instance a kick drum and a bass note to one button. A snare and bass note to another etc... sorry, im a novice here!! any help much appreciated ☺️

Can you hardwire an external midi controller to those zen engine parameters via CC?
@BenCoeMusic5 ай бұрын
A little bit. Nothing is mapped to CC’s by default but each CC is an input in the mod matrix. So you won’t be able to control everything with CC but you can map any CC to any available mod matrix slot. I think with a little planning it opens up lots of opportunities for live performance and live tweaking, but unfortunately isn’t enough to break out all the parameters onto a big midi controller or anything like that.
@yarrrno5 ай бұрын
@@BenCoeMusic thanks for your reply! Im trying to figure out if mc101 and mc707 differ on these things but i suppose it's the same. Some website stated you can do the mod matrix mapping with 707 but didn't state anything about 101. Great to know its there as well. I am planning to buy either one and i also have a nice uc33 midi controller laying around

Sorry bruh that was just the flu stats. Did you not notice the flu killed no one that year? Because they were redirecting the statistics. Also the Vacc is causing the disabilities. Oopsie!
@BenCoeMusic6 ай бұрын
Your numbers don’t really line up though. One week in January 2021 saw more deaths from Covid than there were deaths from the flu in all of 2015-2019. That wouldn’t happen if it were “redirected statistics.” But Biden’s government wants you back to business as usual, if you want to listen to him just to make your boss’s boss more money, that’s your business. I just stated facts, the conclusions you draw are your own.

This is awesome well done 👍🏻 how do you edit your videos to look like this it’s very cool too
@BenCoeMusic6 ай бұрын
Thank you! I don’t really edit much after I take the video, it’s my rough stage setup. The light bar in the bottom right is controlled by a dmx controller that’s set up to switch the lights in response to midi notes coming from the instrument. The audio out is going straight into my usb mixer into fl studio, where the sound is recorded. FL studio is also generating the visuals live in reaction to the audio with the zgameeditor visualizer plugin, which is just going straight to the projector, which projects onto the wall behind me. So I just record straight through with an old phone camera, record the audio all at once with fl studio, line up the audio and video in lumafusion, and that’s about it.
