"Every nightmare just discloses it's your blood that's red like roses," is so dark yet interesting. It's as if "red like roses" was a striking detail about the blood. Everyone knows it's red but you never realize just how grim that is-the sight of crimson pouring out of someone. And so, to cope with the traumatic nature of that memory, she perhaps abstracts the blood as simply that one significant/memorable detail of its color. Thus the phrase, "red like roses," is seemingly an intentionally incomplete version of the memory, "your blood is red like roses."
