Hi sir. I want to ask something. Are the sentences "the man sitting there yesterday IS my brother" and "the man sitting there yesterday WAS my brother" both correct? What's the difference?. Both use participial phrases. Does using "was" imply that "the man" is no longer my brother / he is dead?. I've asked Chat AI but they didn't give me a satisfactory answer
