Google Translation As I wrote in the chat during the premiere, when Japanese think of Sweden, they think of Moomin. There may not be zero restaurants in Japan that serve the Scandinavian way of eating crawfish, but I haven't seen any, so it would be nice if I could eat it at this park.
@JoakimJson3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I didn’t see any restaurant at the park that offered crawfish like swedish style. I think there was one restaurant in Tokyo before, in Akasaka, close to the station I believe. Restaurant was called Stockholm. I think they used to serve crawfish during a very limited period. Maybe this restaurant is not available anymore though. I hope you can find a place that serves crawfish the Swedish style !

Google Translation I like the feel of this house, but if it were built in Japan, it would be expensive. Even in rural areas where there is land and where there is land, wood is more expensive than synthetic building materials. Electricity is scary because there is a risk of fire, and drainage can be expensive if you have to hire a contractor. In Japan, asbestos boards are removed by a professional company. It's a nice house.
@JoakimJson3 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yes, there is a lot of work needed. Electricity, water and more. I will try to do as much as I can by myself when renovating the house to save cost. Contractors are expensive but sometimes I need help. One thing I know that is expensive in Japan is construction material and trash removal. It is almost free in Sweden. I'm a bit nervous about the asbestos boards. I need to be careful! I checked with the muncipal waste company and I can transport the asbestos boards to their recycling facility and they will take care of them. And I think it is also free of charge!!!

Google Translation It was recommended to me and I came to see it. Okutama is beautiful, but it also has a ``scary atmosphere'' in the mountains, and I think it's one of the few environments in Tokyo where you can still feel what the Japanese call the ``god of the mountains.'' Your face is intelligent, kind, and charming, and you will be liked by Japanese people. I've subscribed to Chanel, so I'll come see you again. It's going to get hot from now on, so please take care of yourself.

How far from your hotel to Imperial palace loop? What hotel? Tq for your recommendation
@JoakimJson4 ай бұрын
I stayed at the APA Hotel Mita Ekimae. It's about 4km to the Imperial Palace running loop. I know there is APA hotel in Shimbashi/Onarimon which is closer to the Imperial Palace. Both hotels have very good access to train stations, Yamanote Line and Asakusa Line. APA hotels are typical Japanese business hotels. Decent rooms for a fair price if you are going to be outside all day and only sleep. Mind that I was there alone, I didn't bring any family. There are plenty of resturants and convenience stores around both hotel locations.

@JoakimJson4 ай бұрын
No, this was actually already in 2019. Seems like the Cherry Blossom in Japan is quite early this year. I have to say that Gongendo Park is still one of the strongest Cherry Blossom experiences I have had so far. If you are in Tokyo during the Cherry Blossom I can recommend the walk along Meguro River, between Gotanda and Naka-Meguro. It is possible to take a boat tour up the river. In any case, it is something special to sit and enjoy good food and drinks under the cherry trees in good company! Please check the homepages of Gongendo and boat tours for the latest status!

The Asakusa part was from Sumida Park. It is basically just outside the main exit (or exit 5) of the Asakusa Station, towards the river, and stretches a bit along the river towards the north. If you cross the river there are plenty of cherry trees on that side of the river as well. If you're in for Sushi while in Asakusa, Sushi Zanmai is a good option.

What cold running gear would you recommend to run in tokyo in March. Im thinking of running at 7-8am.
@JoakimJson5 ай бұрын
It could be quite chilly in the mornings in March, down to like 5 degrees Celsius. I guess it warms up quite quickly though until lunch time. I don't like the cold so I would go for some long leg tights or leggings, some kind of light jacket or long sleeve shirt/sweater (with short sleeve base layer underneath) and I would bring gloves (I don't like getting my hands cold). I'd wear a cap but probably not a beanie. A thin west might be useful on colder days. I guess it also depends on your preferences and how far and fast you run. There are plenty of vending machined for drinks almost everywhere on the streets. Bring some 100 yen coins if you need a drink and energy. Some vending machines takes Suica and Pasmo pre-paid cards but not all. Let me know if any other questions. Good luck and enjoy Tokyo running!
