Today we went to Okutama area for some hiking. It was a totally beautiful day with a nice sun, clear blue sky, beautiful colors and fresh air.
We took the train from Tokyo Station, the Chūō Line, which later turned into Ōme Line at Ōme Station but we stayed on the same train. We got off at Kori Station. It was about a 2 hour train ride and ticket was about 1100 yen.
We found the starting point quite easy, well marked by signs from the station, and started our hike.
The scenery is quite beautiful and the autumn colors were fantastic. We continued our hike along the Tama River. We passed some small water falls and canyons.
It was an easy hike, about 8km. It took us 3 hours to walk. There were some hills to pas but nothing too brutal. At some points you could rent SUP and canoes.
We reached Okutama towards the afternoon and the colors were even more intense.
As a bonus I found a craft beer brewery, VERTERE, just in front of the station. They also have a brewery resturant. I bought some beer to bring back home to Tokyo. Delicious!
