The day started with a walk along the Sumida River, watching all the blooming Cherry trees along the river, in Sumida Park and around Asakusa.
There was some festival going on with traditional music and dance.
People were enjoying the spring and the Cherry Blossom wherever they could. The weather could have been better this morning.
In the Asakusa area you can find the beautiful Sensō-ji temple and Nakamise-dori street. It is close to Tokyo Sky Tree and "Kitchen Town"...
Next stop was Kunitachi and the Cherry Blossom Street there, the Daigaku Dori. It is quite famous Cherry Blossom viewing place in Tokyo and around 200 Cherry trees are blooming all along the street. There is a quite big campus in Kunitachi and Daigaku Dori translates to something like University Avenue. There were quite many small and nice cafés to enjoy tea and coffee at.
The weather got better and the sun came out. It turned out to be a beautiful day.
We got on the Ginza Line at Asakusa station and switched to Chūō Line at Kanda Station. It was roughly a one hur train ride all in all and the ticket was around 700 yen. I think it was well worth the visit.
You better enjoy the Cherry Blossom season while it last since it is very short lived.
