Good morning Andrea from out Holland. What a super beautiful video this is what you have filmed of this spider wrapping the caterpillar this time as a bobbin spun around and wrapped in a cobweb. Food for later.I absolutely loved the close-up. Many thanks for sharing and thumb as always deserved. Wishing you and your family a wonderful week with many wonderful and loving hours. 👍😘

Wow dear Andrea, You had met and see a super beautiful rainbow you had seen. And then the many birds that flew in the sky. Many birds have a permanent roost, where hundreds of conspecifics gather. I also see that here every night from the jackdaws and is also a beautiful sight. Also, it is also a security for them should there be raptors that will want to grab them. Wish you wonderful days with all your dear ones.

Thank You dear Cathy! I guess it ate the Japanese common toad that, by the way, reaches quite large dimensions. This Snake has even the ability to store in its neck the defensive poison of the Japanese Common Toads to use it afterwards for its own defense. (It also has its own venom to attack). I saw only once one crawl away with a toad in its mouth but at the time I only managed to take a poor quality photo. blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU6cLU5g-H0YwNva-9sftHvUUGd5ABD2QGyqWTwOdc_MNl5J5zjEmoFkDF-gFJVWLt_APO0gyooxOHU_VwU1fg7HRxwm-lRFZUMCrbbvMAjxPHysTKfrYk_IUiPho6wPkPKGg3nfIscURp/s1600/yamakagashi-rhabdophistigrinus08.jpg

Thank You dear Gijs, oh yes, and I dream to see once a Snake swallowing its prey! What fascinates me the most is how they can expand their jaws apparently almost dismantling their head! ^ ^ This Snake has even the ability to store in its neck the defensive poison of the Japanese Common Toads to use it afterwards for its own defense. This species eats no mamals, Tine. They prefer fishes and amphibians. Because of the large diameter over a short distance, I suspect with great confidence that it is a large toad or a large frog. Seen from the outside, a fish would appear much less thick, but longer. But that's real ‘nerd knowledge’, so sorry for the hint. You don't need to know something like that. Greetings, Rolf

Thank You dear Tine for enjoying this scene! Yes, our common friend Rolf is right. I guess it ate the Japanese common toad that, by the way, reaches quite large dimensions. I leave below the link to one of my videos. There are to reasons why I think it ate this Toad. The first one is that they are quite common on Mount Tsukuba (where I filmed this Tiger keelback) to the extent they are one of Mt. Tsukuba's symbols. The second one is that this Snake has the ability to store in its neck the defensive poison of the Toads to use afterwards for its own defense. (It also has his own venom to attack). kzbin.info/www/bejne/paioiGVvna-XrNUsi=egoESae_pWFPZwlO

Hello dear Andrea, what a beautiful specimen you have shared. And how beautiful face was it that this one so smoothy sliding into the opening of the rock. Hereby again greetings to you and your family and yes had read that it is very warm now. We also had very high temperatures here in Holland last week and it was not really nice to be outside. The day before yesterday we had many rain showers and now it has cooled down a bit again fortunately. L.g, Tine

Hello dear Tine, it is still very hot here but I do not complain since my weak point is to face winter! ^ ^ This is the very first Snake that I was able to film in Italy, actually I did not see any at all when I lived there. Hallo lieve Jacq!
