And what a special boost to your day out, seeing these stunning and playful cubs, having fun in the fields. It is also important and so nice to see their Mum being so protective and leading them away from potential danger when she senses *others* approaching.... but not you, my dear friend. And yes, the mother must certainly remain alert in an open field as danger is always present. Their instinct says that people are not animal-friendly towards them. Later I also saw the other cub. Aah, those joyous jumps in the grass! The joy of having a playmate! The bliss of being able to move one's muscles in a run towards a dear one! To enjoy the invigorating sunlight! i am so reminded of our German Shepherd, whom i like to take out on a neighboring grassland (which my husband and i have named "the prairie". There he runs and jumps exactly like his Japanese cousins, and it is sheer bliss for me to just watch his joy of being free. Thank you for sharing those lovely moments of wild encounter, Andrea!
