The stock OEM tires on this car are not the same Falkens ones sold retail, and are not severe snow rated. Junk the 01 stock tires and replace with real Falken Wildpeak Tires, which are severe snow rated and have a much deeper tread. Shame on Toyota for putting crappy tires on this nice car. I own one and this is my only complaint.

The Subaru infotainment screen and functionality is fantastic, don't know how you don't like it over that dinky Toyota screen. Also, you may want to invest in a couple of cheap tripods so you can film the vehicle driving through the 'deep' snow (that we didn't see).

I bought a 2023 Tacoma TED OR but got rid of it at 1500 Miles as I hated how i sat too low in tge seat which hurt my L5 herniated disk driving fir kong dustances and i totally hated how much that crappy 6 speed automatic transmission hunted for gears driving on our rolling terrain in northeast Tennessee. So I traded that pos in on a 2023 Colorado trail boss that had the better 8 speed transmission and the drivers seat was power so I could raise or lower my seating position. Champion Chevrolet in Johnson city had ordered the truck with surround camera system and 18" custom wheels with 275/65R 18 Goodyear wrangled territory mt tires. It also has skid plates that came on the truck. I have driven it all over the logging roads from bland,va all the way south to max patch in Madison county,nc seldom ever having to drive in 4x4 mode because the G80 locking differential kicks in soon as the rear tire breaks traction spinning one revolution. That truck eascily drives up them logging roads in 4x2 mode. My next purchase when the factory tires wear out will be to put on 285/75R18 talked tires on the truck. Might even go up from the 2" factory body lift to a 4" lift with nicer after market bilstein shocks.

poor sub title. 1. FABULOUS ENGINE SOUNDS. One can put a nice exhaust on anything. Love my flat sixes but V8s sound better 1k-3k, Lexus 5.0 at 3.6k+ is very satisfying. 2. artful choice of lines and materials that are well put together. Real headline more like Emotive Coupe. I drive a 911 manual, Boxster PDK and a Lexus GSF that has the same V8 and magical RWD per torque vector diff (clutches) vs bs brake based. LC has extra intake and sound beats all.

It’s actually not, the ZR2 starts at $73,395 and the F-150 starts at $78K but, looking at ones you can find at dealers here in Denver you are more likely to pay closer to $90K for a 2024 model.

@@theoverrunofficial not down the road man. Brand new trucks are having lifter failures before the first oil change. It can happen down the road as well, it’s just the weak point on the gm v8’s right now. Wish they would get rid of it because the zr2 is a beast otherwise.

The truck we tested had the 3.0L Turbo Diesel V6 so this would not be a problem for that truck. Looking at some stuff online again, it looks like people have found a way to disable and or remove the AFM/DOD from the V8 which keeps the power consistent and removes the reliability concerns. Still dumb but, there are at least some options for buyers.

Driving sports TV compared the 2 in extreme snow, and the Crosstrek wilderness hands down beat the Rav 4. The Subaru’s cimetrical all wheel drive is on at all times and it has a 3 peek tire. With the x-mode deep snow & mud, the crosstrek created its own path in over a foot of untouched fresh snow on an incline! The RAV 4 TRD doesn’t have 3 peek tires. The Crosstrek Wilderness also has 9.3 inches of ground clearance with a 20 inch approach and departure angle. The RAV 4 has an 8.6 ground clearance, a 19 inch approach and 21 inch departure. The RAV 4 continued to stall and turn off in deep snow that was already plowed by the Subaru! The Toyota had to air down its tires and the all wheel drive system continued to overheat! The Subaru has a dedicated auxiliary cooling system for the CVT, hence it didn’t overheat. The Subaru’s also has a horizontally opposed boxer engine making the center of gravity down low and the engine sits just in front of the centerline axle. It’s mechanically configured better in my opinion.

I actually don't mind how you guys reviewed the car so thank you. This car is NOT for everyone, and it is a soft GT with a lot of power not a true performance car like Porsche or AMG GT or a C8, but it is also not unreliable as those cars. As a previous 911 owner, what this car gives you is a pleasant drive experience and a peace of mind, which you won't get with the German cars.

That freaking key is almost a deal breaker, first, its ugly, second, it's size of a flip phone, third, i got my iphone and wallet, do I really need a key that big, for such a small car all I need is lock unlock, I don't even need trunk or panic, two buttons, they could have made it size of 3 quarters.

Kinda a take here but I think we all just need to move to digital keys- car keys are too big now because of functionality like remote park/start and a physical key should only be used as a backup for when your app doesn't work. Not sure how this would contribute to weight/bloat in cars today, but keys are definitely bloated too. -Chase

13:09 how does this ride compared to the gv60 that you tested recently? Maybe next year if HMG they merge the Calligraphy interiors features with the XRT mechanicals, I'll buy it😊
@theoverrunofficial
@theoverrunofficial 2 ай бұрын
It's tough to say given our loans with the two were so far apart. I'd have to say they're both pretty composed, but I think the GV60 probably covers a better range of uses- from sporty to comfy- than this. That's no bad thing, though. The Santa Fe is a hauler for families with a traditional drivetrain, and it absolutely rides like it should.
@Vamanos46
@Vamanos46 3 ай бұрын
8:55 HMG is not equipping the car trims with appropriate INTERIOR features recently . 1. XRT trim is also missing a 360 SURROUND CAMERA. 2. Calligraphy trim appears to have omitted the right front passenger seat controls facing the driver / center console - this is standard in every other region. C'mon Hyundai 😡 .

I just sold my 2016 Miata Sport w/maual transmission with 47,500 miles and only a few minor interior issues(the hard plastic sun visors had cracked and broke off due to probablty sun exposure and temperature changes over the seven and a half years I owned it) for $16,100 at Carvana. I then purchased a 2024 Mazda 3 sedan a few hours later. I just discovered this video and now I miss my Miata so very much already(but Im glad I made the change) I also owned an NC at one time and I agree the ND has made significant improvements to the cars design both internally and externally(apart from those poorly designed sun visors which may have been changed since 2016). The only advantage to the NC generation Sport for me was the traditional hand cranked windows and actual key start instead of push start but Im old and set in my ways. I never personally had an issue with the lack of storage space because its what I expected. There were a few instances in which I lamented the limited space but I got over it the instant I cranked the engine and began my drive. Over seven and a half years I only had to replace the tires once and at seven years I also preemptively replaced the orginal battery. Other than that I had no issues at all. I changed the oil every 6000 miles instead of the recommended 10,000 miles. I also had my first oil change at 1,000 miles to swap out the engine break in oil with new clean oil. The break in period of that first 1000 miles or so will deposit a bit of metallic debris in the original oil and is perfectly normal. I drove to Austin Texas and back to Virginia once, to and from the Atlanta area on four occasions, and five times to Myrtle Beach, SC and back. I enjoyed every mile on those long trips in the Miata(except when it rained forcing me to drive top up) The top itself, after no telling how many openings and closings was still in fantastic shape after nearly eight years.

This will most likely be my 3rd Kona that I lease this October! Now driving a 2022 Kona Limited FWD and will go AWD next time. As the AWD is "on demand" and not full time AWD like the Subaru, it's great to have it when driving in winter and heavy rainstorms during the summer, and the Kona is FWD when the rear transaxle doesn't need the extra traction, which does save some mpg. For the money, I love the bells and whistles on the Kona (ventilated cooling seats during hot NJ summers? Yes, please). For me, who drives 99% of the time on suburban roads and almost never goes on the highway, the gas mpg is fine for me. Now, if the Kona EV Limited was a better deal -- with tax rebates and selling discounts -- I would consider that as well. Kona was the FIRST Hyundai designed as an EV first, then later the frunk space modified for the ICE and A/T.

The point about choosing the EV6 (and GT) or Ioniq 5 if you don't need the luxury is very strong. If you are needing luxury though, also check out the electric GV70, which is a frustratingly great alternative (a month later we still can decide between the two!). As for comparisons to the Mach-E, Tesla, and Rivian - they may be great in certain ways, but they are tablets on wheels which expect you to conform to them. And the Mach-E GT is not significantly faster (especially after 5 secs / 72 mph) and you have to give up leather, ventilated seats, HUD, buttons, sun-shade, V2L, more configurability, more regen choices, door handles (GV70), and so on.

Heard similar things in the German forums. Customer support is mixed at best (better near some of the big cities, problematic the further away you live). A bit funny since this is what they advertise as their premium service advantage yet in reality it’s a disadvantage compared to Hyundai/Kia.

It's a beautiful car. If only Lexus had made it slightly bigger to give it a little more cabin space-especially the footwell of the front seats-and tuned the engine and gear box to make it more responsive, then I would have chosen this car. The brakes are also a bit mushy. It's so close to being a great sports sedan that could rival BMW and Audi. Too bad.
