Just updated and lost a significant amount of FPS in a game I have been benchmarking since I got my 9800x3d. The game had my GPU running at 99-100% before 24h2 (i was on 23h2) and now on 24h2 im gettin 95% usage and my fps are fluctuating anywhere between 5-20 less than 23h2. Idk what happened but I woudlnt update if I were yall. UPDATE: Just rolled back to 23H2 that I was on earlier today and my performance is back up to the marks I mentioned above. If you like to game on your machine I'd hold off just as the other commenters have said. 24H2 has something goinig on that is hitting performance in games it seems. May not affect all machines but on my 9800x3D it did.

I have run into a problem with Rufus 4.6 built with 24H2 trying to upgrade a W10 SSD. It says you can't update a flash drive.

@CyberCPU20 сағат бұрын
I actually have an extra one that I bought by accident and decided not to return because I'll probably end up using it for something. The 5500 is practically the same CPU but clocked a little bit lower because it's a lower binned die. It should be fine.

I just used this the other day. Some of the January update failed to install. Retrying it, I found that after finishing the update, a window opened up telling me that I had to restart to finish the install. Well, I did that, and after booting up, the same window appeared, and again! I was in a never-ending loop! So I tried the repair install you are talking about, and it worked beautifully, and didn't make any untoward changes in my settings or apps. By the way, I did this on an "unsupported" system!

excellent video. unfortunately, i'm stuck in the 'write protected' loop and haven't found any method to get out of it. tried them all, fwiw, so i'm thinking it's time for a new hd. fortunately, i can see my data and copy it, so that's a pluse.

XPLuna7 is probably the closest theme for classicshell or openshell but the logout and shutdown buttons are the wrong way around and the user pic and name aren't centred. There's also XP Blue BBT and similar. The only thing that's really missing is the explorer title bar theme which should be blue like the taskbar with a red X close button on the right.

Great explanation. Wondering if this is as secure as creating a sep. un-mapped boot drive to have an alternate boot in case of issues like PC Lock ransomware attack

ive not done this yet, but the plan is to upgrade my main computer HP Envy Recline 27 AIO with it. I've used Rufus to re-install windows 10 before on an SSD when Envy's the hybrid HDD failed. Since this PC is already regged to a Microsoft account, I'm not sure what to do about that Microsoft account toggle. Off or On?

Yes you do need to get the Product Language of the download 100% correct. Otherwise when you run the upgrade the "Apps and Files" option will be greyed out. At a Command Prompt type DISM /ONLINE /GET-INTL and enter. The first line of the settings report - “Default System UI Language” - gives you the Language/Region Usually EN-US or EN-GB WinSystemLocale or Settings/Time&Language/Language&Region will only give you the Language that you selected from a menu when you first installed Windows.

Regarding Linux - I am primarily a PC Gamer. I don't like Windows that much and don't like what Microsoft keep doing with it, but until Linux becomes a mainstream OS that has games released on it when they are released for other platforms, rather than being an enthusiast OS with limited games support, I'll have to stick with Windows. I liked Windows XP, hated ME, tolerated Windows 7, hated Windows 8, tolerated Windows 10 and I'm not keen on what I have seen of Windows 11 so far.
@geraldeaves3340Күн бұрын
These (The intel version) work. The only situations I've seen where this work for the AM5 is for the cheaper made motherboards. If you have a solid, thick built board, you'll see idle temps drop, but stressed temps stay about the same.

Also, for those that have said it make it worse, you've tightened it beyond hand tight.

"Windows Recall is a new feature on Windows 11 that uses AI to track everything you do on your computer." No you won't. Removing it wasn't enough for me. The stench of malicious intent was still there. I reinstalled Windows 10.

tbf I didn't see the first video, I also thought I could boot from a Rufus UEFI 2.2 stick to get it to bypass the secure boot and use Rufus to mimic the UEFI firmware... but it didn't work and now I have a PC that is not booting because of the drive that Windows is on is in the GPT partition table and no access to the drive to recover the data. I want to be able to access the drive without needing to boot to the OS... grab the files then I can format it. However there is no guides for this... so I hope this video can help me. Looks like this video did help me, thank you very much... that's actually the exact Motherboard I'm using lol I know how to put Windows 11 on Old BIOS by turning off the checks if you want to learn how DM me... the experiment I wanted to try is to get GPT on a drive and boot Windows 11 without needing UEFI... however I might give up soon. pretty much Windows Security is needlessly strict and trying to bypass it in many different ways is part of PC repair...

Thanks for that set up information. I just got a new laptop and my desktop is in getting sorted for win11 for consistency. I'll do the same when I get that back tomorrow. I did have to keep stopping and rewinding with the speed of talk/action ...next time I'll slow the playback down. Thanks again. New subscriber.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to see a "new and improved" product with a negative issue that could not have happened by accident - it could only have been intentional. People don't hate change or improvements. They simply want the product to do what they bought it to do, without having to jump through hoops that make their use of the product less productive. The negative reactions of loyal Windows users should be taken seriously. A truly better product should not draw that much negativity.

Man..I wouldn't do any of this. Why use some random 3rd party route when you could just directly interact with Nvidia, not for me. First think I would do is install "Everything" which is a Windows file explorer that blows the doors off of the native one for speed and power - it will even bring up hidden files. Then I would download all my programs using Winget or use portable versions where applicable. And fan curves belong in the bios. I just have a totally different approach here.

Great video Rich, Thanks for the breakdown & insight between the two schemes. To those with desktops that are watching, ahh theres not much here to play with, that you may havnt already played with in the bios, apart from some fine tuning, how quickly she ramps up or down etc ...... However, those that are watching with Laptops, that want to achive, a more swift responsiveness in the lower operation of your CPU, or more importantly for Thermal control - This is a great vid to start out, And get a base understanding of what youre dealing with amungst these settings

The fact that the system wouldn't boot because of a bad memory module was real contemptible design on the part of the motherboard/bios folks. There should have been some kind of diagnostic.

Not sure all this is worth it for the average person and feels complicated and in the end if something goes wrong later down the line you have to be expect a slightly more difficult time... what a headache. I have an AMD A6-9225 and that is the ONLY thing preventing me from upgrading as all other requirements are met according to Health Check.😔

Rufus is a no go at the moment. Best workaround is to download the file from Microsoft and unpack the .iso into a folder. Find the sources folder and inside that you will find a install.wim file that needs to be broke down into smaller than 4gb chunks. I used Poweriso from start to finish. Then just drag and drop the folder into the USB and viola
